Fast genau vor einem Jahr haben wir euch die erste Ausgabe einer Werkschau vorgestellt, die beinahe jedes Drum and Bass-Subgenre auf einem Sampler vereinen sollte. Der integrative Gedanke ist so reizvoll, dass wir nun mit Volume 2 nachlegen und erneut eine Selection an Tracks unterschiedlicher Stilistik präsentieren wollen. Die hier vertretenen Protagonisten ergeben ebenfalls ein buntes Potpourri aus nationalen, überregionalen und international agierenden Künstlern, die sich in der Zwischenzeit bereits teilweise auch schon auf anderen Labels profilieren konnten. Und so freuen wir uns, dass einige der Producer hier gleich doppelt vertreten sind, wie z.B. Scurrow, der mit seinen zwei sehr unterschiedlichen Arbeiten den Rahmen für das Release gibt. Sein Remix für Bassface Saschas „Inside The Rabbit Hole (feat. Trinity)“ legt gleich zum Einstieg in die Compilation richtig Feuer in der Pyramide. Entrinnen unmöglich! Den Schluss markiert „There Is No Wifi In The Jungle“: ein breakiger Jungle-Slammer für die Heads, die es perkussiv wollen und dazwischen viel Bass aushalten können. Zwischendrin reihen sich natürlich auch neurofunkige Tracks ein, z.B. von Clusta, der seinem mächtigen „Cave Of Evil“ hier noch eine VIP-Krone aufsetzen kann. Ein weiterer Slammer kommt von Neu-Signing Kontrakt aus Finnland. „Network“ ist eine hektische Nummer, metaphorisch gesprochen irgendwo zwischen Kabelsalat und hektischen Bürokollegen. Low Performance debütierte ebenfalls bereits für uns und ist hier mit dem fräsenden „Call Of Cthulhu“ vertreten, bei dem jeder Tunnelbohrer vor Neid erblasst. Die deeperen Stücke kommen einmal mehr vom Lieblings-Italiener Petarda, wobei sich Elektronik VIP zu einer Uplifting-Soundästhetik aufschwingt und uns Petarda tatsächlich erst mit „Nostalgy“ in eines seiner weiteren dunklen Klanggeheimnisse einweiht. Released originally on Jay Cunning's Sub Slayers imprint back in 2012, Toronto Is Broken's debut "Move It" EP turns a whole 10 years old!

Christian Hoffmann, then 18, dropped this EP at the height of the Future Jungle movement, merging old school rave and jungle with then modern production techniques of dubstep and d&b at 140bpm. The release made a massive impact on the bass music scene, most notably with "Spirit Song 2012" which was supported by everyone from Sub Focus, to Paul Oakenfold and The Crystal Method to Netsky. The track was also officially licenced as the main theme at Boomtown Festival's Arcadia Spectacular showcase for a number of years, becoming an official anthem of the festival.

A decade on, TIB has released 3 full length studio albums, "Section Nine" (2015 Sub Slayers)", "You Are (Not) Alone" (2018 Viper Recordings) & "Clare" (2020 YANA Music) shifting his sound from multi-genre bass music to a blend of modern metal and dancefloor drum & bass, creating a true identity to his sound. As well as releasing on a whole range of big labels such as Viper, RAM, Technique and even Republic records. As well as now running his own label YANA Music, Christian has found his home with US metal / electronic crossover label FiXT.

To commemorate the release, it only felt right for things to go full circle and be celebrated on Toronto Is Broken's own imprint YANA Music, with remixes from three of it's upcoming stars, Lateral, Mojay & Corrupted Mind, artists of whom are in a similar position to where TIB was 10 years prior. The EP also features the original mixes from the EP, as well as "Spirit Song 2017" which was a 5-year anniversary rendition of "Spirit Song 2012" originally released on Sub Slayer's 50th release.

Dragon Slayer EP

Gilas - Two My Stars [Shell Shock Recordings] PREMIERE

@KaizenFlow is made up of the duo Nick & Shane,

Shane had previously experienced producing music himself in college and regularly played guitar growing up, even joining a band to forward his talents.

Nick was an avid clubber at drum n bass parties around the UK.

It wasn't until shortly after their meeting that they started music production together just for fun.

It was not until they discovered the legendary sounds of DNB producers `Noisia` that their drum and bass journey was embarked upon.

In the past few years a quick rise to fame has started with some huge releases on huge labels such as Expedite, Eatbrain & Korsakov.

And now nearing the end of 2022 the duo have a whole catalogue of music set to be released.

This brings us to their debut with VTO Records. 

After meeting Dan and Lee the label owners in person at the Neuroheadz event. 

The 4 of them got their heads together to make sure this release happened and now we unleash the talents of this duo to the world.

`TLM`
The first of the 2 tracks was inspired to give a feeling of both nostalgia and high energy. 

The vocal chops take you back to tracks that they both listened to many years ago and a sprinkle of the Reece sound and neuro style basses give this the contract that they fell in love with all those
years ago. 

A very high paced fun Neuro track thats doing some serious damage at the moment

`Object`
A huge contrast to the first, Object represents a much different and highly original idea that was never a focus to release alongside TLM.

A more abstract track with its own agenda and a heavy vocal style lead that pieces the track together nicely.

An unusual and dark overlay of this track brings it to life and will be a stable track for VTO we feel for many years to come.
