"Grace Notes" are those notes that always sound good - the ones that can make a song pleasant to listen to.  So I encourage you to not be afraid of that beautiful musical phenomenon of Tension/Release, of Question/Answer - solving the riddles of emotions through your beautiful music.  Tones that express angst - or unhappiness - they don't have to last for long, maybe it's a critical hold in a song that says, "this is going some place".  Be encouraged to break the boxes!
