Delivering the mix for our nineteenth Spotlight is the Dutch DJ and producer Dani Pana.

Inspired by groovy minimal beats and classic house music, Dani Pana is delivering a refreshing house mix. He has recently released some productions of his own, and we are excited to see what the future holds for this young artist. One thing is certain, you can expect a lot of new energy.

Introducing to you "U-Topic Guests": a series of mixes from international artists, who's art we admired and want to share it to the world.

Our fifth guest is Greta. Argentina based artist, she began her career as an artist through VJ presentations in collaboration with events of various genres on the scene of her city. Then she finds herself in front of her first proposals as a DJ.

She had presentations in recognised cycles and clubs in Buenos Aires and Paraguay. She shared booth with Michael Lauriola, Gonzalo MD, Pandy, Emme Medina, to name a few. Also she have her own project as an audiovisual VJ: Bastet.

At the time of her sessions, you can hear artists such as Yan Cook, Keith Carnal, Ricardo Garduno, Black Hypnotise, Animal Holocaust, 2 + 2 = 5, Imminent Records and Gomboc Records, thus creating a dynamic atmosphere with sounds from the old school of techno, as well as of the hypnotic branch adapting to schedules, spaces and having a great audience reading.

Session number eight is for Trejo, a young DJ from Formosa, Argentina.

His interest in music began as a child with influences such as Deadmau5, Jean Elan, among others. He started in 2019 playing for his friends and then became part of the Techrapia party cycle of which he is now a resident. He also participated in parties such as Unknown productions, Dekonstrukt and Orange (Paraguay).

His repertoires are based on techno, hard techno, hard dance, hypnotic, even tech house and minimal.

The upcoming DJ hailing from Lake Garda, Italy Aristydes is more than just a creator of music, but a philosopher of what music can create.

Aristydes has developed his signature ethereal groovy sound over the years spent simultaneously as a piano composer and as a raver. In 2021 he became one of the three pillars of the U.K./Barcelona-based label and collective 01366. Meticulous in his approach, Larry is a perfectionist and enjoys building up from the ground and drowning the listener in for the duration - all the while adding ethereal atmospheres and driving percussions into the mix.

He also co-founded two series of parties: Electronic Wine Festival to associate techno with wine culture and breaking the stigma of the relation between hard drugs and electronic music, and he co-founded Dark, an afterparty devoted to freedom, counterculture, mutual respect, and creating a space free from discrimination.

Larry believes techno can be political by merging clubbing culture with peace studies. He is lately exploring the possibility of using techno as a tool for conflict resolution.

DJ Sodeyama readies ‘Makura EP’ for Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects. 

Running the Arpa label from Japan since 2011, DJ Sodeyama has been actively involved in house and techno since the early 90s. Releasing music on labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Children of Tomorrow, Quartz and more under his The People In Fog alias, DJ Sodeyama now arrives on Radio Slave’s hard-hitting techno imprint Rekids Special Projects for his first appearance on the label. 

Leading the release is ‘Catura’, bringing gentle flowing pads and gorgeous twinkling synths before the trippy, acid-tinged ‘Kumbhira’ takes a darker turn, sending the listener down a polyrhythmic rabbit hole. ‘Makura’ ups the tempo, drawing for sharp and fast percussion hits amongst ghostly atmospherics, an atmosphere matched by the deep and rolling ‘Pajira’, before ‘Sandira’ closes the release with a moody heads-down track complete with hypnotic synthesis and quirky FX.

Jon Hester returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects with a thundering four-track techno EP.

Previously appearing on Rekids with his two-part ‘Converge’ album released across 2020 and 2021 after multiple EPs on Rekids Special Projects, Jon Hester now readies his next release, ‘Action EP’. A no-holds-barred presentation of the Berlin-based DJ/producer’s latest upfront techno, the release shows Hester in fine form as he returns to the Rekids universe.

Leading the release, ‘Scrape’ sees densely reverberated hits spar with pumping kicks and rattling percussion, leading into the trippy metallic synths, textured claps, and sparse pads of ‘Blinker’. ‘Sirens’ ignites the dance floor with a cacophony of sirens and drum machines taking the lead, before ‘Arise’ rounds out the release with wonky low-end, FX-laden hits and vocal gasps.

FelixbFelix makes a very welcome debut on KOT with this 4 track EP.
The title track, Binary Shuffle, is a lovely rolling affair, with stabs and acid sprinkled throughout. Bass Cut is a more stripped back track that builds nicely as it goes on. Flat Pack is a chunky track with a groovy bassline and clever FX. Closing the EP perfectly is Silicon, which bounces along nicely.
4 great tracks with a nice bit of variety between them!
