Collective Process returns for Vol 9 of the series, once again bringing together a selection of new and exciting techno artists from across the world to showcase their unique stylings.

Tunisian based BENKHLIFA opens up the EP with a sturdy and fast paced affair before UK duo Mist Gasp delve deep with their signature hypnotics. Legendary German producer Oliver Deutschamnn makes a welcome return to Soma after many years with the funked up Sonntags im Studio before Berlin based End Train delivers the stripped and moody Capacity as the EP ends with Orion’s jacked up and hypnotic Hollow Cause.

Time is running...and it seems like we just woke up out of our interstellar sleep-mode as we are facing the arrival of the 14th edition of the almighty COCOON RECORDINGS COMPILATION. Starting with the letter "A" we reached "N" meanwhile which probably marks one of the longest running techno compilation series ever around. The list of the featured artists is amazing and almost endless. Big names like Funk D'Void, Alter Ego, Michael Mayer, Steve Bug, DJ Rush, Adam Port, Christian Smith, Nina Kravitz, Henrik Schwarz or Argy can be found here. Not to forget some of the biggest players in the circus like Sven Väth, Anthony Rother, Extrawelt, Timo Mass, Radio Slave or Ricardo Villalobos, DJ Koze, Dubfire and even Berlin's Basic Channel mastermind Moritz Von Oswald.

Exos launches his X/OZ label on Tuesday 20th June, with the six-track EP,  ‘Invisible Limits Vol. 1’. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of Exos’ ‘Hverfult’ from it above.

As one of the longest-running techno artists from Iceland, Exos has been releasing music for 20 years for labels including Thule Records, Bliq and Slow To Speak.

In 2015 he was signed up to Nina Kraviz’ трип Recordings, collaborating with the label boss for their cut, ‘No Criminals’.

On the ‘Invisible Limits Vol. 1’ EP, Exos launches his new X/OZ imprint with music from himself, as well as Gurk, Soschla, Octal and Ruxpin.

Speaking about  ‘Hverfult’, Exos told DJ Mag, “So this track has three different elements. The past, present and future.

“‘Hverfult’ describes my musical aspects from there to now. It has my old signature sound from the E-mu ESI-4000 and the Nord Modular, mixed with software synths from Ableton.”

Corpus is a record label emerged from the dungeons of Berlin. The latest addition to its growing body of work is dubbed Charade & Masquerade. As an industry first, Corpus brings together on wax the iconic Developer and surging Setaoc Mass. These truly stellar remixes are accompanied by their respective originals – one forged by Arma, the other crafted by Kan.

Uun's techno blends widescreen grayscale imagery with propulsive dancefloor pressure. Whether crafting what Hardwax dubs "straight ahead techno juggernauts" or deep, introspective tools, his work is grounded in a masterful command of atmosphere and texture. 

Uun developed his interest in fringe sounds as a guitarist and drummer in his hometown of Kansas City before shifting his attention to electronic music in 2012. This led him to relocate to Detroit, where he spent seven years pushing deeper into the underground techno scene, refining his production and performance methods. Between the Midwest and  several periods in Berlin—another city he's found a deep connection to—he's honed a style that's allowed his music to nimbly navigate between different subgenres, "quietly infiltrating" the genre from multiple angles at once. 

Uun's sound and his ability to mold it into a variety of forms has captured the attention of lauded techno labels like Mord, Semantica, and Soma. On his own Ego Death imprint, he pushes past genre confines and deeper into his music's underlying themes, exploring existentialism, duality, and the role of the artist in the modern era. His first full length, 2022's Derealization, interrogated dreams through rebuilding memories of liminal spaces, and on his latest Ego Death release, 2024's Platform Decay, he laces his tracks with a poignant criticism of social media-driven cultural homogenization while doubling down on his own uncompromising sound. 

As a live performer, Uun distills years of his studio practice into cathartic sets that build off his productions while pushing them into exploratory new territory. His live show has taken him to legendary clubs like Berlin's Tresor, Tbilisi's Khidi, Detroit's Movement Festival, and Brookyln's Basement, and alongside the decade-plus of releases under his belt, it's safe to say Uun's infiltration of techno might not be so quiet for much longer.
