Nils Frahm would be proud -- or maybe you're proud of Nils Frahm? He made this sound (almost identically) on a Juno 60 on one of his more recent albums. GREAT STUFF!

Fun With Audio #7

A funny thing happens when someone asks you “Do you play an instrument?” and you answer “Yes, a synthesizer!”, you are often met with an expression that suggests that is not the answer they hoped for. As a lifelong fan of synthesizers, I always found this a bit bewildering as these instruments not only can create so many wonderful sounds, you can compose with them in so many ways.

In light of this, I decided to compose this duet-style sonata between a grand piano ( UVI Model D) and an emulation of the 1983 Yamaha DX1 synthesizer ( UVI FMX1) played in the most traditional of ways.
