The latest 3000Grad release tells a story that has been written by two creative minds. Each new sentence builds on the last, expands on its pictures and ideas – yet at the same time, each new sentence gives the plot an unexpected, new twist. Nihil Young and Juliane Wolf wrote this story in the universal language of groove, their sentences are frequencies, their words are sounds. It is a love story, set on the dancefloor. The first chapter is titled Glacier. Here, the two producers create an elegant contrast between machine-like, rattling synthesisers, subtle melodies in the background, and the whispered softness of a voice. Unity, the second chapter, presents itself as a catchy vocal track that oscillates around the rousing momentum of pop. Additionally, there's a stripped-back Dub version that puts more weight on the heavy bass and the liquid electronic elements of this tune.

German producer Alex Breitling makes an emphatic return to Purified Records with his two-track ‘Cold Strings’ EP. Floating across a cinematic soundscape, the title track features undulating patterns and soaring strings, completed by touching vocals and striking synths. Diving into ‘Dreamcatcher’, Alex devises a vast arrangement with gentle instrumentation, airy vocals and rhythmic percussion.The ‘Cold Strings’ artwork features a graceful image of a manta ray captured by Daniel Nicholson. Manta rays are among the largest species of rays, with wingspans reaching up to 29 feet (8.8 meters). These creatures are filter feeders, primarily consuming plankton and small fish by swimming with their mouths open, and are also known for their distinctive cephalic fins, which resemble horns and are used to funnel food into their mouths while swimming. Manta rays are found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide, often congregating around cleaning stations where small fish remove parasites from their bodies. Despite their impressive size, manta rays are gentle giants and pose no significant threat to humans, with encounters often characterized by curiosity and awe. Located on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Daniel Nicholson is one of the globe’s most prominent professional underwater photographers. Ruben Karapetyan’s RKP continues a strong summer season by welcoming Gorkiz and Benja Molina to the label for their first ever collaborative single. Hailing from Brazil, Gorkiz has achieved measurable success across his twelve year production career, bringing his progressive minded sound to highly regarded record labels such as Meanwhile, Mango Alley and his own Transensations imprint. Genre tastemakers Nick Warren, Guy J and more have been steadfast supporters along the way, making the Sao Paulo resident one of Brazil's top progressive music exports. Meanwhile, hailing from Spain, Benja Molina first emerged in 2009 on the strength of early tracks such as ‘Never The End For Me’ and ‘The World Of Sound’, a pair of floor friendly cuts that would establish a clean progressive sound for the Spaniard. Evolving as an artist over the next decade, the Madrid resident would adopt a deeper, more contemporary approach to his production, eventually leading to projects for Massive Harmony and Soundteller. It was 2023 however which proved to be the most impactful year for Benja, with well-received debuts for Droid9, Freegrant Music, Mango Alley and Univack further elevating his profile. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Gorkiz and Benja make their RKP debut with ‘Nuclear’, alongside remixes from DJ Ruby and Not Demure & Topo Larocca.
