These are two (unreleased) remixes of "Swagger", a 1992(?) single by Manchester-band This Gigantic World. Jason from the band was a friend of Dominic Varle and they seemed keen for us to do this at the time...until they heard the result which transformed it from 'baggy' into a ambient-techno thing with (quote) "A Mickey Mouse vocal". Personally I loved the 303 bassline on it and it always felt like a UXB track with a sampled vocal rather than a 'remix'. A note of acknowledgement should go to Winton Simpson whose 303 it was. Even though it was broken and couldn't be programmed it was great to use the 3 or 4 random patterns it seemed to produce ad twiddle the knobs. Hence all the frequancy shifts, drop-ins/outs and mixing on this is being done 'live' down onto DAT as the sequences play.

04 Swagger

Kwerk1, Kwerk2 and The Love of Which utilise a basic sample around which I built a riff and then improvised the 'mix' with a live 303 straight down onto DAT. These are warts-and-all takes, unedited.

'Every Time You Touch Me' was my entry for a Moby remix competition of his single of the that name. I didn't win but I still like my version.
