To create their first collaborative full-length “Lachrymorph”, guitarist Petar Petkov and drummer Bartosz Borzeszkowski embarked on a journey to the Unknown – both physically and creatively. Having successfully collaborated in the studio (check out “Scape I", released in "Vanishing Standards II"), the artists felt the need to dig deeper in their mutual audial explorations, which curiously enough stem from their quite different musical backgrounds with Petkov coming from the world of classical guitar and Borzeszkowski - from the field of jazz.

In “Lachrymorph”, Petkov and Borzeszkowski don’t hold preliminary discussions to lead the music the desired way, they do not map their explorations but rely on intuition. Creating in a small cottage in the deep forests of Cassubia, Poland, they seem to have not only opened their own worlds to one another's contributions, but have left the door wide open for all that lurked around to further nuance and deepen their sound. Scattered across the pieces are field recordings, captured during the duo’s walks in the surrounding areas, that further flesh out the world surrounding Petkov and Borzeszkowski's creative process.

“Lachrymorph” is a varied listen, more of a collection of musical snapshots than a narrative-driven experience. Some tracks (“I”, “IV”, “VII”) are deep and captivating soundscape works that make you lose a sense of the actual instruments that went into their creation. Others(“V” and “VI”) are more straightforward and act as a sort of wake-up call, not letting you disintegrate entirely in the hazy musical territories of the record. Most of the music, however, inhabits the intriguing zone between these two polarities, neither direct nor surreal, like glimpses from one world to another.

S﻿ound artist Filiz Sert aka Kaosmos responded to artist Leman Sevda Darıcıoğlu as part of their collaborative project "The here next time*". 

Inspired by May Ayim's poem “Community”, The here next time* focuses on the lines of community building in its beauty and struggles with references of queer vulnerability. Starting by a reflection on the gravity as an obstacle and support at the same time, the work questions how the present time has been and is being shaped within systematic marginalisation under the normative cis-heteropatriarchy and the traumatic baggages coming through. While doing so, the installation proposes a non-linear approach to look into today and the future by addressing to non-blood-tied ancestry coming from the past and community support mechanisms in the here&now. -  Leman Sevda Darıcıoğlu

Ryu Recordings is a young label operating since the summer of 2022, a London-based record label owned by Peter Adjobia, known artistically as Dragon and member with Paul Jetten of the duo Dragon & Jettenbach. Peter is also known for his former DJ residency at London club Slimelight, as well as having released music on major labels such as Ant-Zen, World Serpent, Point Source Electronic Arts, Component Recordings and Errorgrid.

Ryu Recordings started with a first release by Dragon, its head, and now presents the second reference with a four-track EP by Sommerfeld, an artist whose origin and identity we do not know, as his aim is to work anonymously and not to provide any information about the project. 

Sommerfeld brings fine detailed structure to this EP, a constant high level of work to each track , giving it a seemingly dimensionless quality, an angular momentum, which harmonises the strength of electromagnetic force  governing the shape of the EP with the interaction of spectral lines and experimental sounds. A diffraction, a propagation, of audio that makes up the standard model of these electrically charged  tracks.

Alpha 137 will be released on 1st March 2023 on Bandcamp on a very limited mini CD-r and digital, which will be Name Your Price for the first week only and will be available on all streaming services.

"re-LEAF’’ is a fundraising compilation commemorating over 50,000 lives lost and hundreds of thousands more injured and displaced following the disastrous earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria in February 2023.

Compiled by the Turkish electronic music artist Hüma Utku and Sine Büyüka of the London/Istanbul based label Injazero Records, co-released by the UK label Phantom Limb; ‘’re-LEAF’ features an eclectic roster of outstanding experimental electronic and ambient music artists, who dedicate a wide musical selection to this urgent cause.

All profits of this release will be donated to the Ahbap NGO in Turkiye, who currently lead a crucial, wide-range relief operation in an ethnically diverse area home to millions of immigrants and Syrian refugees.

Fascinated in ritual gatherings. They were there thousands year ago, they are now in a form of rave party nowadays. Trance in front of a wall of speakers next to your loved ones is a purifying moment that can recharge our life energy to survive in this estranged world. And Dj Dzony59 always wanted to be a part of it. After visiting pacifist and d.i.y. techno parties outdoors and in prague squats back in 2007 he bought his first vinyls and together with dj B4nan they founded Quantum59 sound system. Many of other friends got involved and together they made and participated in dozens of memorable events between years 2008 and 2017. After strong self-assesment while contributing in a collective of squat Klinika he realized that things went too far off his expectations and fundamental beliefs of how the anti-authoriatirian and egalitarian collectives should work, he decided to leave this group and started his attempts to cooperate with other utopian collectives that he had luckily met so far.
Now he is a dj that will never give up his collection of vinyl records, containing mostly acid techno, oldschool rave, acid house and will always be there to pump the bass and enjoy the life energy that rave brings.

Description

The mix opens with the haunting vocals of Akira Takahashi and piano perfomance by Ikue Asazaki  with their track "Yoisurabushi," setting an ethereal atmosphere. Sarathy Korwar's "Lost Parade" follows, infusing intricate rhythms with a touch of melancholy. Sombre Lux's "Cove" continues the exploration into atmospheric darkness, leading to the intense and foreboding "DEMON TIME 600 HÄSTAR (L.S.P INTRO)" by VARG²™.

The mix transitions to the tension-filled "Ambulance Chase" by Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow, providing an adrenaline rush. Rajna's "Black Tears (edit)" combines emotional vocals with ambient textures, while The Allegorist's own track, "Through The Forest” from her 5th album TEKHENU, captivates with its enigmatic allure. Hekla's "Ris og Rof" introduces a sense of mystery, followed by Joe Rainey & Allie Bearhead's "turned engine," which delivers an intricate blend of soundscapes.

The Allegorist returns with her own track “Breath," which is part of the compilation “Quantized Realities’ out via Errorgrid Records in May 2023, that combines pulsating melodies with ethereal vocals. Synthmonk's "Distorted Digits”, from the same compilation, delves into distorted electronic soundscapes, leading to The Allegorist's "Whispers Of The Wind,” the main track on her fifth album TEKHENU out via her own imprint Awaken Chronicles, an evocative and atmospheric piece.

White Boy Scream's "Rockets" surprises with its intense performance, followed by Sugai Ken_Akuta's experimental "yOrUkOrU." Wiegedood's "Wade" brings a surge of dark energy, followed by Ibukun Sunday's "Burn It All Down," a track that immerses listeners in brooding textures. Deru's "Midnight In The Garden With Ghosts" conjures a cinematic ambiance, while Braxius' "Tűz és Jég" adds a touch of mysticism.

The mix concludes with "Anda Þinn Guð" by Högni, featuring Hatis Noit, leaving listeners in awe of the spiritual and otherworldly journey they have experienced.

The Eleusinian Mysteries were spiritual/psychedelic initations that used to take place twice every year at the panhellenic Sanctuary of Elefsina in ancient Greece to honor the goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone. The Mysteries represented the myth of the abduction of Persephone from her mother Demeter by the king of the underworld Hades. 

This particular project is the aural representation of the artist's perception of the rites and often consists of raw distorted drums accompanied by shadowy atmospheres, eerie drones and heavy basslines with a hint of psychedelia.
