«Evolve» présente l’aboutissement de l’évolution musicale d'Uzul. Depuis ses débuts aux machines dans Kaly Live Dub (PIAS/JFX), en passant par beatmaker dans le duo breakbeat & techno Hybrid Sound System (Sounds Around) puis dans le groupe electro hiphop Uzulprod (Expressillon), Uzul révèle aujourd’hui son projet solo live Techno & Bassmusic.

Après avoir sorti plusieurs EPs vinyles sur Expressillon (Spiral tribes, Interlope…) et I.O.T Records, puis plusieurs EPs digitaux sur Elastica records (IT) Future Followers (UK), Mallabel records (USA) et ODG (FR), Uzul dévoile « EVOLVE » son premier album solo, fruit de la collaboration avec Jarring Effects.

Cet opus est un cocktail musical réunissant les différents styles musicaux qui ont pu influencer Uzul durant sa carrière. Le dub, l’acid techno, le dubstep, se retrouvent subtilement mélangés  dans ce singulier projet Techno & Bassmusic.

"Evolve" presents the culmination of the musical evolution of Uzul. From his debut on machines in Kaly Live Dub (PIAS / JFX), passing by beatmaker in the breakbeat & techno duo Hybrid Sound System (Sounds Around) then in the electro hiphop group Uzulprod (Expressillon), Uzul reveals today his live solo project Techno & Bassmusic.

After releasing several vinyl EPs on Expressillon (Spiral tribes, Interlope…) and IOT Records, then several digital EPs on Elastica records (IT) Future Followers (UK), Mallabel records (USA) and ODG (FR), Uzul unveils “EVOLVE »His first solo album, fruit of the collaboration with Jarring Effects.

Today, french artist Uzul premieres Sea Horse, the first single taken from “Evolve” his debut album to be released on April 9th, 2021 via Lyon based label Jarring Effects.

“Evolve” is a bass music and techno album in which are mixed Uzul's multiple influences: from dub to dubstep via electronica, UK bass, deep house or even trip-hop.

Sea Horse, is a perfect hybrid between modern and minimal techno music in the style of Richie Hawtin and the dub sound of sound systems. The sounds of TB303 deliver their resources overtime to make the song more and more hypnotic and in the background a deep breath machinery and analog synthesizers, bring a mechanical side, as if the song were the sound produced by a futuristic factory. The whole supported by a sharp and unstoppable skank which like a clock ticks the title. A progressive and hypnotic track, ideal for late hour mixes. A maximal techno dub title.

The album will be available on all digital platforms worldwide as well as in Eco-friendly Vinyl.

Two years ago, Uzul released Evolve, his first solo album on Jarring Effects. A record which abolished the boundaries between musical aesthetics and which traced the evolution of his music, his life and his influences. Today, he returns with a bang to Slab Note, the techno branch of the record label Jarring Effects, for a digital opus full of maturity entitled Grow.
This new album marks a new chapter in Uzul’s life. Indeed, at the dawn of his fifty years, Uzul sees the birth of his son. Having designed this new album at the same time as his child, the analogy with plants seemed obvious to him.
The tree, grown from the seed, is a symbol of life, growth and longevity. The child is also like a plant grown from seed that will grow over time. Growing up in this world damaged by man and his pollution, where collective consciousness must evolve so that young people can flourish on a prosperous planet where nature is placed at the center.
It is therefore in the world of plants that Uzul imagines his decorum to present this album, composed of ten futuristic techno tracks full of maturity.
Uzul, a jack of all trades, curious with inexhaustible creativity, has been a pioneer in terms of technique since the beginning. Already in 1998, the composer was one of the first musicians to use an Atari 1040ST as well as Cubase. At the time, he bought his first sampler, combined it with this sequencer and created a live machine, a feat for the time!
This know-how and this edge can be found in his music as well as in his lives. Today he offers a live performance composed on Ableton Live which he combines with analog. The result is breathtaking.
