Recorded live in 2010 at the Burning Man festival, which takes place in the middle of the Black Rock desert.  Performances included those through a makeshift sound system powered by a 50 pound battery pack, which Dixon dragged by hand on a wagon through the dust.  Imagine the CD case you are now holding covered in sand.

The first time I participated in Burning Man was in 2005, and it was life-changing for me in many ways.  One of these was musically, in that the event encouraged me to express myself, my true self, and for the first time I tried to create my own music, improvising from my heart, rather than reading the sheet music of others.  When I realized that I could deeply connect with others through my own music, it profoundly affected me, and I thereafter changed my life priorities to allow more room for music in my life. What had been a hobby was now a passion, and I haven't stopped since!

Every sound you hear was created with one violin, live. Nothing was pre-recorded, and very little edited in order to preserve the original sound as heard live.

A broken time portal to an alternate universe leaves 2 scientists trapped in a Sultan's palace where they befriend the court musicians and plot an escape.   In the end they decide to stay for a while as the sultan is really cool and loves the saxophone.  Court musicians composed this song to commemorate the saga of the time traveling duo, and the song premiered at the Sultan's honorary BTM gala event.

Back in 2015 I traveled to India to explore and finally experience its magic. This incredible artist @kunaal-gurbaxani opened for me at a funky outdoor club in Goa called Teso and I realized I was listening to the next generation of Indian bass music. Bass music at that time was just hitting in India and the syncopated rhythms and heavy drops that Gurbax was laying down was a sign of the times. Little did we know that Gurbax had spent time in America studying Music Production in New York City and Atlanta and was a fan of Beats Antique….

Now 5 year laters, we finally made a track together with Gurbax. Dirty South is a testament to the ongoing evolution of global bass music. With the heavy influences of American dirty southern hip hop to the traditional South of India, this track is a conversation of contrasting cultures finding common links though the sweaty grit that is the south.
