Very happy to finally release Refraction Remixes! A small collection of remixes from some of my favourite artists+friends who all brought their own amazing twists on the tracks from Refraction. 

This is my contribution to the project: a more drum focused + condensed version of Flare, one of my personal favourites from the original album.

The trail he followed entered the mouth of a deep, black cavern resting at the foot of a mountain. Recalling the goal of the journey ahead, he apprehensively makes his first steps into the true unknown. As sunlight dimmed and darkness shrouded his cape, a shrill hiss echoed through the rocky tunnel. The sword he wielded began to glow brightly, revealing an Ophidian of scale never before seen. Distraught, he draws his sword and trains it toward the reptile. This battle will surely not be his last.

Here's our song 'The Hole Pt. 1'. It's not essential to know this before listening, but here's what it means to us: it's a song about a journey into the space inside yourself. A cathartic, claustrophobic journey of self-confrontation. Apart from that it's also in a different time signature than 4/4 (it's more or less 17/8). This makes it virtually unmixeable too. There had been reports all over the city; sightings of a hovering…thing. An object made of an unknowable substance, floating at head height. The reports had initially come in slowly with no apparent logic to their location, but more and more sightings were being called in in the past few days. Some grainy footage had begun to appear; a dark circle drifting in and out of focus. Was it a threat? It was definitely unprecedented, and there was a tension in the air as the GasPods struggled to process an unknown and uninvited entity in their midst. How do they react to something so far outside of their understanding? Maybe it was some kind of a mass hallucination; maybe their ecosystem of industrial decay was taking its toll. The videos suggested otherwise, but for now they would just have to hope it didn’t transition from intruder to invader, and do their best to carry on life as normal…
