This week’s new addition to our radio is Mimi, 25 years old from Hannover. She originally comes from Munich and started to DJ a couple years ago during the pandemic, when she was gifted a Controller. This is when her journey began. Mimi describes her sound as divers and mood depending, even genre-fluid. Currently the sound varies between progressive house, breakbeat but also trance and more bassy stuff is involved ever so often.

In the meantime Mimi was able to play some gigs in Hannover in the majority, Braunschweig, Bremen, Kiel and even Berlin (yay). Leipzig is still missing on that list, but who knows whats about to come next. Promoters, get your bookings right! Festivals like Organic Beats Festival, Kiezkultur, snntg, Fête de la Musique in Hannover and Foesstival could also be added to the list of venues she played.

For this edition, we’re excited to feature Selektra, a key figure in the underground music scene in the Halle/Leipzig region. As part of the wonderful Moosgrund collective and host of the acclaimed Peer2Peer show on Sphere Radio, Selektra brings an eclectic, quality-driven approach to his sets, blending everything from World music, Brazilian jazz to soulful house. Also known for his mastery of the turntables, Selektra delivered during our last bar evening an excellent vinyl-only set featuring deep house, cosmic, and Balearic beats. Get ready for a smooth yet dynamic journey that transports you from sunny shores to cosmic realms.

Da wir nicht nur gerne tanzen, sondern genauso gerne quatschen und Quatsch machen oder einfach die pure Musik auf uns wirken lassen, hängen wir auch gerne auf Ambientfloors ab.

Ein weiterer Teil unserer Herzen ist wie ihr wisst dem Schlager verschrieben und so lag für uns die Idee nicht weit beide Genres miteinander zu verbinden. Erste Kostproben haben aufmerksame Fans und Zuhörer*innen sicherlich schon in einigen Sets von uns vernommen, nun trauten wir uns bei unserer Suprafluid Festival Soli-Party der Verbindung von Schlager-Ambient zum Start der Veranstaltung ein ganzes Set (im weiteren Sinne) zu widmen.

Bitte seid uns nicht böse wegen der weiten Auslegung beider Genres. Ihr wisst ja, we love music einfach und keine Schubladen. 🫶

@multifun is a DJ, the founder of MLTMX Records and a graphic designer based in Berlin. As a child of the 90s she feels connected to the typical sound of that time. Her feature is to bring forgotten pieces of music back on the dancefloor, combining those with crispy productions from the present to build up a varied mixture of feelings and genres. Depending on the mood she aims to express, her sound is always characterized by dreamy progressive synthscapes, vibrant percussions and pumping basslines, while not missing moodlifting vocals and in contrast some challenging elements here and
there, trying to surprise the audience with much Multifun.
