Sarah Neptune grew up in Morocco, immersed in the rhythmic and danceable sounds of percussion that shaped her musical ear from an early age. Since the age of 16, she has been building a rich and eclectic musical culture, driven by the deep emotions she feels through dance—a true bridge between music and the soul.

An untiring dancer, she has spent the past 10 years exploring dancefloors across France and beyond, absorbing every beat and refining her craft. Passionate about electronic music in all its forms, with a particular fondness for the timeless charm of vinyl, Sarah blends her influences to craft sets that take listeners on a journey through time, always guided by groove and an irresistible sense of sensuality.

For the next instalment of our Cartulis Live Mix Series, we’re thrilled to welcome Sohrab, a name synonymous with forward-thinking soundscapes and impeccable selection.

This mix was recorded in May 2024 at the @Colourfulinc party at @tagchengdu in Chengdu, China. Perched on the 21st floor of a building, TAG is a deeply underground venue.

Born in Trieste, Italy, with Iranian roots, and shaped by years spent in London’s underground scene, Sohrab embodies the fusion of diverse influences. As a DJ, his sets effortlessly weave through genres, delivering potent, futuristic, and deeply energetic performances. As a producer, his signature melodic flair has earned him recognition on labels like Kalahari Oyster Cult, Undersound, and The Comfort.

Sohrab’s journey through some of the finest parties and venues, Undersound, Art of Dark, Fold, Les Enfants, Mtkvarze, and, of course, Cartulis, has cemented his reputation as a perfectionist whose music speaks louder than words. His mix for this series captures that essence, delivering a snapshot of his dynamic artistry.

Sebastián began his music career over a decade ago in his home country of Peru. After establishing himself in Lima’s local scene, he moved to Barcelona in 2018, where he rapidly evolved as a DJ and producer. Characterized by his raw and eclectic sound across various styles, particularly techno and electro, he soon made a name for himself.

He became a resident DJ at Mad Radio Barcelona and took on the leadership of the Siku Series project with a group of close friends. Additionally, he curates and manages his own label, Coqueto Records.

@alice-dfl explores ’90s trance through sets that blend raw energy with dark atmospheres, oscillating between goa, new beat, and acid textures. Without locking herself into any specific subgenre, she favors organic rhythms, deep basslines, and textured sounds typical of the old-school scene. Her mixes, mostly focused on the late ’90s and early 2000s, play with hypnotic energy and contrasts, sometimes flirting with techno but never losing the essence of trance.

She is also the co-founder and graphic designer of the intimate Selmos festival.

"For this mix, I decided to go a bit against the grain. Instead of following the high-energy tech house vibe that's currently dominating the scene, I aimed to create something more playful, unexpected, and diverse. I had a lot of fun experimenting — from playing tracks at the “wrong” speed to selecting tracks that I wouldn’t typically play.

I wanted to blend a variety of genres from three different decades into one cohesive story. Since L'eau, C'est La Vie translates to Water is life, I searched for tracks that feature water elements — think rainfall, thunder, or sounds reminiscent of the Amazon. Tried to tie these natural elements into the mix together to give it a unique feel.

Hopefully, it’s the kind of mix that brings you a moment of calm, curiosity, or even a smile — perfect for a Sunday afternoon."

A true family affair — Turning Point EP marks P.O’s third release on Griffé, following two previous EPs that helped cement his unique sonic identity.
