In the early 80s Ayano The Ultra Duck was hired by Aperture Science to help with the development 
of the portal technology  due to his knowledge of inter-dimensional travel 
 and portal physics.
During his experiments he had placed a Sample of Chaining Intention
into the Robotechneutroizer which reacted with the negetivespace dark-realm causing 
a fracture in the space time continuum which in effect damaged the very backbone
of reality causing a vision of all possible outcomes to be continuously displayed
on this very window you, the viewer, are looking through..
Although he hadn't succeeded In what he was employed for, he stated happy he was with
the end result and the sounds and visuals that his portal had created.
Cave Johnson, however, was not impressed and was quick to fire him
due to the fact that his experiment not only yielded undesirable results
 but also affected the past and altered the events of the
mantis DNA experiment preformed by the other scientist in the facility
producing in the Mantis Men epidemic we all heard of at Aperture Science Laboratory in the 70s.
The cause of this was because the portal he had created accidentally linked the realm where
Hatsune, Miku was infected by parasitic bacteria, who when entered our dimension, infected the Mantis DNA
the scientist were splicing to the Olympians and Astronauts and thus causing the small scale war
between voluntary test subjects and the diabolical mantis men.. 
Not really sure how that panned out, but well, at least we get to play with Portal guns
and listen to Ayano's new sound.
