This music was originally written for the Eastern University Dance Department.  It was performed there in the winter of 2009 and again at the Painted Bride in the Spring of 2010.

Grey Matters

This music was originally composed for the Eastern University Dance Department.  It was performed there in the winter of 2010, and again by the Drexel University Dance Department in the spring of 2012.  The composition features a sample of my good friend - Philadelphia hand-pan virtuoso Dante Bucci.

Increments

This music was originally composed for the Eastern University Dance Department.  It was performed there in the winter of 2011 and again at the Jeanne Ruddy Performance Garage in the spring of 2012.  Written for flute, clarinet, cello, piano, and vibraphone.

Undercurrents

Cover of the classic Doors tune.  Did this a while back just for practice.

Waiting For The Sun (Doors cover)

Another cover, this time of a Stone Temple Pilots tune.  The original never got much play, but I always thought it was one of the better cuts on the album.  Again, just something I did for practice.

Silvergun Superman (STP cover)

Yet another cover, but this one is more of a departure from the original - a much darker, almost industrial reworking and a minor reharmonization.

Revolution (Beatles cover)

A track I started working on a while ago.  Originally concieved for my Vagrant solo project, but seems to be more at home with the new as-yet-nameless band I've been assembling.

A reharmonized version of the old Duke Ellington standard.

Solitude (Jazz standard)

Featuring Andrea Weber on cellos.  Been working on this on and off for a while now.  Still not totally happy with the vocal but it'll do for now.

John von Glaubitz (aka Vagrant, aka Slim Jenkins) is becoming well known througout Philadelphia's vibrant creative community.  He has established himself as a gifted guitarist, composer, songwriter, singer, bassist, producer, sound designer, and educator, and works with a diverse and continuously expanding array of artists.  Some of his many credits include recording and performing with: Banner Records pop sensation Rachel Conrad, the internationally acclaimed hand pan virtuoso Dante Bucci; the groovy songstress, AlyCat;  Nigerian Afro-beat musician and composer, Rotimi Hundeyin & de Afrophonik Crew; and singer/songwriters Victoria Spaeth and Joshua Popejoy.  More recently, John is trying his hand for the first time as a front man in his own rock power trio, Roadkill Messiahs.

John has also composed extensively for modern dance and theater.  His many collaborations with choreographer Stephen Welsh have been performed by Stephen's own dance compay, SWerve, as well as the dance departments of Eastern University, Drexel University, and Swarthmore College.  In addition, John has functioned as sound designer and composer for a number of theatrical productions with the Flashpoint and BCKSEET theater companies.
