 A conscious poem performed with the edge of the tension that inspired the lyrics.
This song is a tribute to my heritage and ancestors, I worked on writing this song after notable artists of the Armenian community opened the invite for fellow artists in the diaspora to express their take on the Armenian experience; retelling our history of trauma, survival, perseverance and inner strength on the beat that was used to deliver their annual "Armenian Emcee Cypher".  The war that has waged on the borders of our native lands has taken a severe toll on the community around the world, since battles have reignited since year of 2020. I felt the topic deserving of my contribution to raise awareness and extend my compassion and empathy for the rest of us who have held each other in comfort over the recent trying years as a opportunity to connect and send a message of love and comfort in connection through this piece.

Katie Garfield - Nothing Left To Say

Born and raised in Ethiopia with Armenian origins.
My interest in music started very early on when I used to attend rehearsals of my uncle and aunt's band, the Sevan Band. Been dancing since I was 2 years old. Enjoyed singing in the school choir and also took classical piano lessons as a hobby. In high school started choreographing for dance shows, Latin, hip hop, and more contemporary styles both for group and solo routines. 
Attended University of British Columbia in Vancouver Canada had the chance to join the UBC Dance Club where I was trained professionally as an International Style Latin American ballroom dancer. Started salsa dancing socially in Canada also. 2005 moved back to Ethiopia and started teaching salsa classes, continued show dancing, as well as teaching Latin American Ballroom dancing around town, co-creator of the Salsegnochu Dance Group and danced with and choreographed for the group for 3 years.

August of 2010 started working in music full time. Started performing with the band Z Beyaynetus with Bitik Emlaelu's encouragement. I have just finished my album with Kenny Allen,  performer and producer from DC currently in Ethiopia. 
I currently am a performance artist/vocalist with Z Beyaynetus Band, the 251 band and Eshee Havana (salsa band) and Zemen Band.
I have worked with Zeritu Kebede with Zemen Band and the Nubian Arc (both very well known and established musical groups in Ethiopia) and currently work with Tsedenya Gebremarkos.
