In March 2021 I was at Swaraj University, Tapovan Ashram, Udaipur for a workshop. Swaraj is an alternative learning space perfect for enlightening conversations, unlearnings and self-reflections. The workshop was based on two books - Pluriverse and Alternative Futures. In simple words, it was about how to bring a socially just world through different worldviews and alternative ways to look at/live life.

It was the first time I went out of Kerala since the 2020 lockdown and I had to document the experience I'm having there. It was not a planned thing but I simply recorded a bunch of things - humans, animals and nature. After coming back to Kerala, I discovered the possibility to experiment with the sounds to present an aural retelling of what I experienced at Swaraj. This is the first time I'm attempting something like this. But I thoroughly enjoyed the process.

It's been exactly 39 days since the government of India has imposed a virtual "emergency" on the people of Jammu & Kashmir and things have only turned worse since then. This is just a reaction of my mind as we still think that they are happy and doing well though the communication blackout continues in Kashmir.

You know there is something very wrong in democracy if you have to make your people believe that everything is normal in your country when it's not.

When was the last time you thought of growing your own plant? 
Or are you privileged enough not to be worried about where your next meal comes from?
Next time you complain that all fruits and vegetables have toxic chemicals in them, ask what your government is doing to prevent this? 
Ask what your government is doing to ensure you get clean water, clean air?
Ask yourself what you have done to start conversations around this?
