Valdy B4 Tiga

In times when DJs become overnight celebrities with a single track, it's refreshing to meet a guy, who has learned the craft the hard way. Valdy has been doing gigs for the last eight years, first in his native Pleven, than mainly in Sofia, Bulgaria. As a kid Valdy was seduced by rave (Prodigy's Poison), acid break and techno (Josh Wink's Higher State of Consciousness) and the sublime house of American artists like Armand Van Helden and his eponymous You Don't Know Me and later on got a regular slot as a support deejay for some of the local names for free. 

Valdy bought his music from the local underground shop and was forced to cut the tapes on CD recorders in order to deliver a smooth and thoughtful selection in the pre-internet age. Even though the sound at the end of the 90's was mainly hard and monotonous, Valdy showed a tendency to find melodic house tracks with a certain groove and spent some time under the guidance of Georgio B.

After five years and countless gigs in numerous bulgarian clubs, in 2006 Valdy became a resident and booking agent of Kanape Club in Pleven - one of the best house venues outside Sofia. Soon after that he met Liubo Ursiny and the guys behind Elevate agency. Their solid friendship, based on mutual respect and common taste in music, led to the first gigs of Nick Curly, Tiger Stripes, Manuel Tur and a lot more in Bulgaria and Kanape.

Since 2007 Valdy has been represented by Elevate and played along with Boris Werner, Lauhaus and Julien Chaptal, as well as at the epic Sunday parties at Culture Beat Club and various gigs in Yalta Club. You might have caught him playing back to back with his partner in crime Liubo Ursiny – their epic long sets on Halloween, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve have become some sort of a legend. At present they share a residence and play back to back at the Day Off events in Yalta Club. 

You will know it's Valdy when you hear the flawless mix between soft, melodic and sexy house music and the certain groove that comes from the heart of those in the know. Time to dance.
