Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte is the first completed piece in the context of the project "nos[entre]nós", a collaborative creative project between composer Valéria Bonafé and improvisor Rogério Costa. This piece takes as a starting point a set of memories shared by them during a period of residence in the city of Stuttgart (Germany) from July/13 to July/14, and which are activated from the appreciation of photographs of their personal archive. Through the sharing of impressions and affections, the photos provide a sort of mediation so that the memories of the past become sonorous in the present.

Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (collaborative creation with Rogério Costa)

Valéria Bonafé was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She studied at the University of São Paulo and at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. Her music has been performed in concerts and festivals in Belgium, Canada, England, France, Germany, Italy, USA, and around Brazil. Her more recent research and creative work deals with sonority and sound image, memory and affect, orality and listening, sound poetics, sound autobiography and sound cartography. She is one of the founders of Sonora: musics e feminisms. Currently she is developing a post-doctorate research-creation at NuSom - Research Center on Sonology at University of São Paulo.
