On February 26th, 2012, Trayvon Martin was shot to death in a Florida suburb. A young black man barely 17 years old brought to his end for no reason other than suspicion. It also happened to be my birthday. As I celebrated another year on Earth, I was haunted by the fact that his life ended so soon. After a visit to the Civil Rights museum in Memphis, TN I wrote this song. Today is the one-year anniversary of his death and we must not forget him. ABOUT "THIS MESS WE'RE IN" MASHUP/ #CovidCover : 
I arranged 3 of my favorite songs together for this mashup - "This Mess We're In" by PJ Harvey, "Teardrop" by Massive Attack, and "Wandering Star" by Portishead. (All UK artists)

A PJ Harvey song was the first submitted from a fan for my #CovidCovers that I'm producing during quarantine. And I'm so grateful for the request. This project took me back to my days of trip-hop, when and where I first started songwriting, and I couldn't help but include two of my biggest influences - Portishead and Massive Attack. Producing this track was a much-needed escape for me. 

The cover art photo is from my first time - and escape - to London.
