Here is the second EP of Makala Jazz Funk Band called "Passion Fruit", which includes 2 original songs of forthcoming first album of group, and 2 remixes of the first EP "Orrua" released in 2013. Tracks 1 & 2 recorded by Antxon Sarasua at ARS studio, Zarautz and Jon Oiartzun at Jomes Hamilton studio, Andoain. Track 1 & 2 mixed by Jimmy Bidaurreta at JB Imre studio, Vitoria-Gasteiz. Track 3, remixed & produced by Ezequiel Lodeiro aka Doctor Stereo in Buenos Aires. Track 4, remixed & produced by Mikel Makala in Zarautz. Mastered at Studio Schoenrock (Stuttgart, Germany). Graphic design and illustrations are made by Txarly Brown from Barcelona. MJFB are: Oihan Lopetegi (Vocals); Antxon Sarasua (Organ); Ander Ederra (Guitar); Ander Zulaika (Drums); Mikel “Makala” Unzurrunzaga (Bass).

Introducing Sola Rosa!

Kiwi soul is on the rise and we are happy to welcome Sola Rosa as our latest signing from down under. Back home in NZ, the band, lead by mastermind Andrew Spraggon is already a household name with their trademark mix of soul, reggae, hip-hop and whatnot. Call it modern day roots music if you like. Extremely well produced and catchy as a Holland/Dozier/Holland tune. Occasionally backed by a string quartet but with creaking basslines at the low ends. Mic duties are handled by an international ensemble of singers, chatters and MC's like Spikey Tee, Iva Lamkum, Bajka and Serocee.

On July 29, we release the first single „Turn Around“ featuring the wonderful Iva Lamkum. The album „Get It Together“ follows on September 30.

We celebrate the good news with a free download of the instrumental title track of the album. Enjoy and share how you like!

Voodoocuts kicks off the A-Side with Kelja, a raw 70s afro-funk bomb from the Ivory Coast. The American-funk inspired tune features a funky bassline & killer organ vibe, mingled with a dirty, raw saxophone line and James Brown influenced vocals. Voodoocuts' rework turns the track into a serious dancefloor banger!
In 'The Tortoise Loop' Voodoocuts blends an infectious groove with pounding drum breaks and hypnotic vocals. A hot afro-latin joint not to be missed!
On the flip SoulBrigada takes things to a disco tip. 'Hustleman' is a stunning afrofunk & disco gem from West Africa. The second track 'Madera' is an afro-disco gem with a compelling Cape Verdean groove. 
SoulBrigada rearranged the tracks, added drums, samples and effects building a bridge between past and present – without ever losing its original organic vibe. Two essential tunes for your record bag!

After releasing the first single Voodoo Jazz end of 2016 the journey of Dem Juju Poets keeps on with Barabara, the first single taken off their forthcoming album Liberated Thoughts out due early 2017 on Matasuna Records.
David Hanke aka Renegades Of Jazz, brainchild behind Dem Juju Poets, keeps on with his distinctive Afro sound and delivers a great 45 in various styles. As the Renegades Of Jazz journey will take a step away from Afrofunk music, Dem Juju Poets will be now the main outfit for Hanke to release more Afro driven music in the future.
Barabara is a heavy piece of dancefloor Afrojazz goodness, decent horn sections, tough drums and rich percussions combined with vintage vocals. People's Republic is a organ and flute driven Afrosoul tune with a heavy brass riff, thriving percussions and flute solos galore.
