Solidarity in Times of Corona means: #leavenoonebehind
We’re experiencing an unparalleled humanitarian, sanitary and political catastrophe. In face of the global Corona-Pandemic we need to act solidly united more than ever and support those who are particularly affected. Those are the elderly, poor, homeless, immunocompromised people and moreover the refugees and displaced people at the European borders.
For how long can a person bear the inhumane conditions at the EU-borders? The circumstances in the camps on the Greek islands have been worsening for years. People seeking protection on the Greek islands and at the borders are exposed to heavy violence and systematic discrimination. Greece and the EU have in fact abolished basic human rights and the right for asylum in the past weeks. Refugees are being fired at, the conditions in camps like Moria are purposely kept inhumanely because the EU aims to deter those seeking shelter. Lawlessness is dominating where solidarity and humanity are needed the most. The situation in the overcrowded camps is disastrous and it lacks everything from medical aid to basic sanitary needs. The people are defencelessly exposed to the pandemic as they are trapped and isolated on the islands. Protective measures which are being carried out on the European mainland are simply impossible to be employed in the camps. (See more: https://seebruecke.org/leave-no-one-behind/)

In Moria, water is becoming rare and is distributed in dangerously low rations – immediate support is required now. Based on the statement by the NGO Seebrücke our collective has decided to publish a Soli-compilation as quick as possible. The compilation will be divided into 3 EPs which will be released on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday of this week. A variety of artists – 17 in total – from many different genres of electronic music will be on the release, contributing to the project. We are aware that this is only a drop in the bucket in times like these. However, any form of solidarity is needed at the moment . It's no mystery that we, here at Delayed, like the mysterious sound of dub techno.  It's also no great surprise to our listeners and readers, that our collective ears perk up when we hear things with intricate ornate rhythms rather than in-your-face, four-on-the-floor bangers.  And what happens when we hear both a nice dubby, tripped out track with honest-to-goodness hippity hoppity rhythm? Well, we write a review!  
Luna Ludmila's track Sway is precisely that type of a track: it deftly balances rhythmic intricacies with dubby spacey ambiance, without crossing over to either crazy drum-n-bass incoherence or to the sound-coming-from-bottom-of-the-well feel of many dub tracks.  Instead, the track propels itself nicely along with its overall ambiance designed to put the head of the listener in that sweet, trance-like state all the while pushing the listener's body out of the chair and onto the dance floor.

'Sway' is coming out as part of 'Nowhere 02' compilation on April 24th via Something Happening Somewhere.

Very excited to share the 162nd OFR courtesy of Chicago based DJ and promoter, JS Alvarez, who heads Research & Development. 

JS Alvarez is a dedicated and adventurous connoisseur of music but is loyal to no one genre. At an early age, Alvarez engulfed himself in punk, hardcore and metal while growing up in Miami. While performing with a handful of hardcore punk and post punk bands, his musical taste expanded widely. So he decided to give DJing a chance. After celebrating 2 years of running a successful dance party in Miami, he moved on to Chicago, cutting his teeth on more disco and soul. Now he finds himself as a resident at Chicago's Smartbar with a monthly series called Research & Development. Although Research & Development focuses on techno, it consistently seeks to highlight artists who blur the lines of genre and experiment within and outside dance music.

This particular mix was recorded during the Halloween season and moves through some sci-fi horror vibes while ending in what I'd describe as "perfect for that blood rave scene in Blade."
