(Danish) Fast Techno/Trance

ygam’s co-runner, Catartsis (@catartsis), is back with a new solo EP — “Acier Leste” — a 5-track gathering of intricate tangible grooves. Made by processing and editing various recordings of metal plates, hardware working tools, and other iron objects, each cut takes us deep into sophisticated percussive mechanisms. Alloy-infused rhythms and textures unfold in deliciously subtle industrial breakbeat steppers. Agile acousmatic techno swings that bear the sonic imprint of the metallic bodies recorded and explored by the artist.

"Sonar is one of the few festivals which manage to present electronic music in all its variations, pushing boundaries and finding links between experimental sounds and more popular forms of music.
I constantly explored this hybrid spaces with my different projects : as a solo sound and visual artist, through my own new label “ara”, or with Neon Chambers, with which i will perform at Sonar by night this year alongside my partner Sigha

Presented here as a premiere, “Stone Sober Brushstrokes”, taken from my last EP as Kangding Ray, which will be released on the 17th May on ARA, was born as a result of such a crossover : a track which blends different bass music influences and hints of hiphop into a techno framework."

Based in Copenhagen, all artists have a huge impact on the local electronic music scene, being members of the rising Fast Forward agency as well as releasing constant high-quality music through their labels VALIS and Bunkerbauer. For SPT001 they have contributed 2 tracks each - Lund&Rønde with their dark floating Halcyon Days and the golden happiness number Boost, Dimensionhopper with a Club Mix of his apocalyptic Intelligent Life Form Passing By and an epic new production called Another Day In Dreamworld.
