Endless Dark

I don't have my guitar and had some time today - so I decided to make due with what i had available.. Tells a bit of a story of 2008 to now.. learning to trust yourself, and someone else with no reservations.

Once upon a time
I was stuck in my own hell
Deep below
The earth’s core
Found myself
Curled up
Calling my depression my home
Roll around on my back
Look up at the sky
There was nothing there, it was just black
The tunnel to the top seemed so long
It was so dark and so deep

So I fell asleep and had a dream
In this time of pain
I struggled to find solace
In my dreams
Began to fall asleep
I was wishing for the trees to greet me and bring me the peace that I was searching for
Many hours passed
So many places to go
In my subconscious mind
Took anything to escape just from being awake
To not remember where I was
So finally got up
And I crawled
I was clawing at the walls
I was falling up,
Trying
Falling down
Finally started making my way
And I saw the light shining through for the first time
And the clouds moved to block my view
The rain started to pour
I started to slip
But I trusted myself
Not to let myself fall again
Continuing to make my way up
Not looking down
I didn’t realize
All the souls that would nearly drown
Not even try
Not even hope for the best
Just simply live their lives in autopilot
Day to day
This is not what I’m doing
So I wished and I hoped
For my dreams to come true
I was struggling for something new
Always get what you ask for
Be careful for what you hope for

Here I am sitting at the top,
With my feet dangling over hell
Just to keep warm
In my transition because it’s cold up here
In a world full of lies and a world full of hate
I can’t seem to find my way

Until I saw your face
