Temple is a space to disappear in sound. An aural shrine in which self dissolves.
This extract from Haytham El-Wardany book, How to Disappear, read by Philipp Rhensius aka Alienationist, seemed to encapsulate part of what I expected Temple and Espacio Perpendicular to be, and I thought it would make a nice intro.
 
From there, the selection was aimed at making it easy for the listeners to disappear in sound. Experimental noises to tickle the brain, moving to more melodic or tonal pads. A slow crescendo to some more ‘deconstructed beats’ shifting  towards a “4 to the floor” groove.  Horizontal start, seaweedy dance ending.

With releases on some of our favorite labels like Silent Season, re:st, Lowless, and Huinali, Owl is a master of subtle textures and emotions. Our Belgian connection runs deep, built on shared moments, mutual admiration, and a steady stream of talent that never seems to dry up. The latest to surface is Ben Kamal: Brussels-based DJ, promoter, and soon-to-be label boss. In recent years, Ben has been a staple in clubs like C12, Fuse, and Funke, as well as festivals like Paradise City and Horst. He’s carved out a sound that’s both precise and personal, equal parts deep, minimal, and melancholic. As a resident of Lola Haro’s Small Steps series and curator of nights at bis.club, he’s been steadily shaping a mood, a narrative, a space. And with the first release on his new label ov guidance about to drop, featuring a.brehme and signall kommt (aka z@p), that space is about to get even more defined.

Listening to the mix Ben made for us feels like watching dusk fold into night in slow motion. The arc is patient, but the details are razor-sharp: fluttering hats, muted basslines, strange shadows between the kick and the silence. There’s movement, but it’s not linear. It loops, it lingers, it pulls you inward. It’s not about big moments, it’s about micro-decisions that add up to something more enduring. Call it dusk-lake energy. Call it perfect for the other side.

that 90s-esque minimalist techno sound is something that forest on stasys has become renowned for within his own productions on labels such as space lab, hyphen records, crescent london, harmony records, lowless, accent records and worst records to name a few. alongside this, forest on stasys runs and curates the label aura sonora which recently released a record by dyl & tammo hesselink and he’s also part of the danza nativa crew which he has been co-running alongside alderaan and kyntral since 2018.
