Junction Forest is a new label operated by Junction Records Store, out of Seoul. The first release is from our associate Tim a.k.a S.O.N.S and is a trance 3-tracker with a few twists. 
It is titled after an (in)famous forest in the middle of Seoul, straightforwardly called... Seoul Forest. 

Some words from S.O.N.S about the release:

So I got some complains about my last album, reportedly containing no danceable tracks, 
"I tried to play it out and everybody left" said one angry customer. "I thought it sounded fine but it clears the floor 100%" wrote another one.

Well this time I took a different approach.

On the A side, you get Tteuggeopge (meaning "Hot" in Korean) - it's a mixture of acid techno and psy-trance breakdowns, with some vocal samples taken from an old Korean movie, a jazz intro and a long 9.09minutes build up (figures are never chosen randomly) which I hope won't let the dancefloor unmoved - if you dare to play it! 
On the flip you get the ambient version... no! I was joking! you get 2 other trance tracks
Psychic Link is a mixture of Hard & Goa Trance sounds with breakbeats samples & a surprising deep tribal interlude in the middle to cool down the room for a minute. 
And finally Snow White And The Seven Mushrooms is an angry bad tripping tribute to 90s progressive house sounds. Like if Robin S took too much acid and is haunted by some supernatural creatures.

Eyal Talmor is an experimental musician dealing with unusual behaviors of electronics and sound. His improvisational performances centre around a synthesizer that, when connected to a normal functioning machine, becomes unintentionally influenced by corrupted MIDI data sent back and forth, causing it to operate beyond its planned capabilities.
While dealing with the chaotic nature of the involved machines and the live setting in real-time, Talmor's setup allows him to reach sounds that would be otherwise impossible. The described method makes every performance unique and unrepeatable, allowing the musician to research stress conditions, chaos, the physicality and behaviors of new sounds and their influence on the listener.

We are so pleased to present this mix by Detroit legend K-hand. She will be joining us at the festival by presenting a children's workshop for mixing records as well as making us move on the dancefloor.

K-Hand is considered the first lady of Detroit Techno and there is no denying Hand's role as a globetrotting DJ who never fails to further Detroit's undisputed legacy. Hand knows how to read a crowd and seduce it, one track after another, until she has it at her mercy, and the dance floor dances. Just as well versed in techno (via her Detroit fostering) as house (via her days in Paradise Garage-era New York), Hand offers the best of both worlds -- few DJs can weave back and forth with such precision.

Dance for Relief is a project that's been on our minds for a while as a way using our music to help raise funds for causes that we are passionate about. With the world currently struggling with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic now felt like it would be the right time to get this project started.

The first project under this banner is a compilation of edits, remixes and secret weapons from various friends, with Volume 1 focusing on cosmic, tribal and trancey sounds of the 90s.

All money from this release will go straight to Direct Relief (directrelief.org), a charity who's mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies, and who are doing great work to ensure that protective gear and critical care medications get to as many health workers as possible. We felt they were a particularly both in the midst of current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

Finally, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all the artists involved who have given their skills and time during a difficult period to help make this release happen in support of a worthy cause.
