(1) The gopīs said: O beloved, Your birth in the land of Vraja has made it exceedingly glorious, and thus Indirā, the goddess of fortune, always resides here. It is only for Your sake that we, Your devoted servants, maintain our lives. We have been searching everywhere for You, so please show Yourself to us.>



(2) O Lord of love, in beauty Your glance excels the whorl of the finest, most perfectly formed lotus within the autumn pond. O bestower of benedictions, You are killing the maidservants who have given themselves to You freely, without any price. Isn't this murder?

(3) O greatest of personalities, You have repeatedly saved us from all kinds of danger from poisoned water, from the terrible man-eater Agha, from the great rains, from the wind demon, from the fiery thunderbolt of Indra, from the bull demon and from the son of Maya Dānava.

(4) You are not actually the son of the gopī Yaśodā, O friend, but rather the indwelling witness in the hearts of all embodied souls. Because Lord Brahmā prayed for You to come and protect the universe, You have now appeared in the Sātvata dynasty.

(5) O best of the Vṛṣṇis, Your lotuslike hand, which holds the hand of the goddess of fortune, grants fearlessness to those who approach Your feet out of fear of material existence. O lover, please place that wish-fulfilling lotus hand on our heads.

(6) O You who destroy the suffering of Vraja's people, O hero of all women, Your smile shatters the false pride of Your devotees. Please, dear friend, accept us as Your maidservants and show us Your beautiful lotus face.

(7) Your lotus feet destroy the past sins of all embodied souls who surrender to them. Those feet follow after the cows in the pastures and are the eternal abode of the goddess of fortune. Since You once put those feet on the hoods of the great serpent Kāliya, please place them upon our breasts and tear away the lust in our hearts.

(8) O lotus-eyed one, Your sweet voice and charming words, which attract the minds of the intelligent, are bewildering us more and more. Our dear hero, please revive Your maidservants with the nectar of Your lips.

(9) The nectar of Your words and the descriptions of Your activities are the life and soul of those suffering in this material world. These narrations, transmitted by learned sages, eradicate one's sinful reactions and bestow good fortune upon whoever hears them. These narrations are broadcast all over the world and are filled with spiritual power. Certainly those who spread the message of Godhead are most munificent.

(10) Your smiles, Your sweet, loving glances, the intimate pastimes and confidential talks we enjoyed with You all these are auspicious to meditate upon, and they touch our hearts. But at the same time, O deceiver, they very much agitate our minds.

(11) Dear master, dear lover, when You leave the cowherd village to herd the cows, our minds are disturbed with the thought that Your feet, more beautiful than a lotus, will be pricked by the spiked husks of grain and the rough grass and plants.

(12) At the end of the day You repeatedly show us Your lotus face, covered with dark blue locks ofhair and thickly powdered with dust. Thus, O hero, You arouse lusty desires in our minds.

(13) Your lotus feet, which are worshiped by Lord Brahmā, fulfill the desires of all who bow down to them. They are the ornament of the earth, they give the highest satisfaction, and in times of danger they are the appropriate object of meditation. O lover, O destroyer of anxiety, please put those lotus feet upon our breasts.

(14) O hero, kindly distribute to us the nectar of Your lips, which enhances conjugal pleasure and vanquishes grief. That nectar is thoroughly relished by Your vibrating flute and makes people forget any other attachment.

Thunder and Lightning (Radha Krishna Pran)

This is a version of Yamuna's Prayer to Srila Prabhupada "Nitya-Amar." At the celebration of Yamuna Devi's Disappearance Day in Saranagati Village, on January 1st, 2019, we realized we had almost all the people present who recorded the original track in 2015. So spontaneously, we sang it as we did on the original recording. Gopal played guitar and KD played the drum. Everyone present sang a lead at the end.

Sahasra-koti jiva, samsara bhramiya, koti-koti-janma gelo
Kichu dhanya-jana, bhakti-lata-dhana, guru-krishna-krpaya pelo
Thousands, millions of souls, are wandering this world, for millions of births. Some fortunate ones attain the treasure of devotion, which is like a beautiful, blooming vine, by the mercy of Guru and Krishna.

Chorus:
Nitya amara sri guru, ei krpa magi ami
Yugala-charana prema prakashite smarana kori
Oh my eternal spiritual master, I beg this mercy! May I be in constant remembrance of the dawning of love for the Divine Couple’s lotus feet.

2) Nama-guna-lila-bhakta, kirtane jagata bhuli
Tomara charana paite – ei krpa magi sada
Singing Their names, glories, pastimes, and glorifying Their devotees, may I forget this world. I beg the mercy of attaining your feet.

3) braja-kunje basi, shravana-kirtana, maha-mantra preme gai
Tomara krpaya, bhakti-lata-bija, praphullita habe tai
I pray to sit in the groves of Braja, hearing and chanting, singing the Mahamantra in great love. By your mercy, the seed of the bhakti-lata will then sprout.

4) Kapata matsarya, kama-krodha-lobha, ahankari bhakta
Nama-sankirtane, chindiya chadibo, ei saba mayara shakha
Hypocrisy, envy, lust, anger, greed, and the false devotee ego – by Nama-sankirtana may I sever and discard all these weeds of maya.

5) Vrndavane tada, radha-damodara-priya, saundarya-prakashe tara
Kataksa-darshana-paiya, hrdaya sarvanande, bhasi amara
Then, in Vrndavana, in the glow of beloved Radha-Damodara’s beauty, I will catch that wistful glance, and my heart will be consumed with all joy.

6) nitya amara sri guru, tumi sata shuddha-bhakta
Kripamayi dite sabe, radhara guhya krsna seva
O my spiritual master, you are truly a pure devotee! Mercifully, you gave us the secrets of Radha’s service to Krishna.

7) shridhama navadvipe, pibo bhakti-mata-vanya
Avidya ahankara chadi gaibo, tumi hrt-mandire sada
In Shridama Navadvipa, may I drink of the flood of devotion. Giving up arrogance and ignorance, I will sing of your place in my heart forever.

Prema dāsa

saptadvīpa dīpta kôri’,    śobhe navadvīpa-purī,
ĵāhe viśvambhara debarāja
tāhe tā̃’ra bhakta ĵatô,    tāhāte śrīvāsa khyāta,
śrī kṛṣṇa-kīrtana ĵā̃’ra kāja (1)

Illuminating the seven islands of the world, Śrī Navadvīpa-purī shines due to the presence of that king among the gods, Śrī Viśvambhara. There, in the midst of Śrī Viśvambhara’s bhaktas, is the renowned Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita, whose life’s mission is śrī-kṛṣṇa-kīrtana.

jaya jaya ṭhākura paṇḍita
ĵā̃’ra kṛpā-leśa mātra,    hôiyā gaura-prema-pātra,
anupama sakala carita (2)

All glories, all glories to Paṇḍita Ṭhākura. By a speck of his mercy, one can become a recipient of gaura-prema. All of his pastimes are matchless.

gaurāṅgera sebā bine,    deba-debī nāhi jāne,
cāri bhāi dāsa-dāsī lôiyā
satata kīrtana-raṅge,    gaura gaura-bhakta-saṅge,
ahar-niśi prema-matta hôiyā (3)

Exclusively fixed in the sevā of Gaurāṅga, he does not know any demigod or goddess. Along with his four brothers, servants, and maidservants, he always revels in kīrtana—day and night—with Gaurāṅga and His devotees, intoxicated by prema.


ĵā̃’ra bhāryā śrī mālinī,    pati-bratā-śiromaṇi,
ĵā̃’re prabhu kahôye jananī
nityānanda rahe ghare,    putra-sama sneha kare,
stana jhare, netre bahe pānī (4)

His wife, Śrī Mālinī-devī, whom Mahāprabhu calls ‘Mother,’ is the crown-jewel of all chaste women. Nityānanda Prabhu resides in their house, and she loves Him as her own son. When she sees Nityānanda Prabhu, milk flows from her breasts and tears fall from her eyes.

kabhu bā īśvara-jñāne,    nati kare śrī caraṇe,
kabhu kole karôye lālana
prabhur nṛtya-bhaṅga lāgi’,    mṛta putra-śoka-tyāgī,
śuni’ prabhu karôye rodana (5)

Sometimes, knowing Mahāprabhu to be the Supreme Lord, Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita bows down at His lotus feet. But sometimes he takes Him on his lap to nourish Him. In order not to interupt the ecstatic dance of Mahāprabhu, he renounced any expression of sorrow at the death of his son. Hearing of this, the Lord wept.

bhrātṛsutā nārāyaṇī,    vaiṣṇava-maṇḍale dhvani,
ĵā̃’ra putra vṛndāvana dāsa
barṇiyā caitanya-līlā,    tribhubana uddhārilā,
prema dāsa kare ĵā̃’ra āśa (6)

Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita’s niece Nārāyaṇī was the voice of the Vaiṣṇava assembly. Her son Śrī Vṛndāvana dāsa described Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s līlās and thus delivered the three worlds. It is in him [Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita] that Prema dāsa keeps his hopes and aspirations.
