Menuet Nocturne’s nostalgic melody in waltz-like rhythm evolves and expands throughout the song. I wrote this original work inspired by Chopin and his Nocturnes.. The first motif transforms throughout the piece and the melody keeps a dance-like lilt. Solo piano release 11 Feb '22.

The theme of the original work was from Franz Liszt's Etude No. 9 Ricordanza of the Transcendental Etudes. I have used the Zoom l-12 mixer to record with stereo mics and also some EQ..in this video.

Water Babies (World Piano Day 2023)

I’m constantly in a state of searching…it’s almost incessant, this cycle that creates my music.  It’s become so second nature to me, but it still takes me by surprise…it hangs me out to dry, every time! 

Alongside happiness and settling into my two homes, lives excitement and intensity, and huge dollops of existential angst.  We are here and then gone…it never makes sense. I’m constantly confused as to why…and why all this music?  

I am meeting new energies head on, I refuse to hide and hold my head up as I bare myself…how painfully intense to just lay bare the soul, the heart of what we are…what we desire…

This music is born of this baring…and I make it so I can dance within it…it is my atmosphere, when everything else makes no sense, the music allows me to breathe…to understand something about life and the invisible entity that we are. In spirit we arrive, inspirited and inspired we live, out of body we die, but our spirit lives on forever…

From this day, the day of this musics’ birth (June 26, 2023, my spirit will live within this music forever…I need not worry where my spirit will go when my body dies.

The Dancing Pole Waltz

Theme music from Local Hero-1983, was a BAFTA best score nominee in 1984.  Mark Knopfler is a phenomenal guitarist and songwriter, with a unique voice to compliment his musical gifts.  I like Dire Straits music and was hoping this piano version of Local Hero/Going Home would be worthy of posting.
