The Van Meyers has seen a vast and productive life in its fairly short existence. Formed out of a non-productive be-bop quartet, guitarist Doug Meyers and drummer/percussionist Kevin Van Walk forged into the live music scene exhibiting their exploratory jazz and improvisational passions as a guitar/drums duo without the benefit of a bass player or other predetermined ensemble members. The duo finds themselves collaborating with the region's finest improvisational and experimental musicians, artists and poets in live and recorded environments.
