I was just a youngin from the hood who never thought I’d see the world, let alone survive it. I joined the U.S. Army at 18 trying to stand my ground, grow up fast, and make something out of nothing. What came with that uniform was pride, pain, loneliness, and moments that almost broke me.

I slept outside in trenches, walked miles just to make it to work, and spent nights  homesick wishing I was home. I lost battle buddies I still carry with me every night before I go to sleep. I wanted to quit more times than I can count but I kept going as a wounded soldier trying to stay strong. On 10/10/25 i got to intoxicated and attempted a suicide 

This song is for the second family I had to leave behind, the officers who stepped in when my life was on the line, and the ones who didn’t make it back. It’s also for my the Ainsworth family for giving me the love and support that they knew i needed 

Taking off the camo doesn’t mean the soldier in me is gone. These memories made me who I am. Even when the Army wasn’t always good to me, it shaped me—and I made it out alive.

This isn’t just music.
It’s survival.
It’s healing.
It’s standing tall when nobody thought you could.

Salute to the Army.
Salute to the fallen.
And salute to anyone fighting silent battles trying to make it home.
