Johnny Mercer wrote a song in 1943 that Fred Astaire sang in one of his movies, but the version I prefer is Frank Sinatra's.  He recorded it many times from 1947 through 1993; it really spoke to him, probably because he spent a lot of time with bartenders and had many failed relationships to mourn.  Enjoy my version of this Sinatra torch song.

This year I'm trying out a song from 1949 that has become a classic folk ballad, recorded many times since it's composing. Valentine's Day reminds me of Love songs, so why not Irving Berlin's "They Say It's Wonderful" written in 1946 for the Broadway Show "Annie Get Your Gun".  It has been recorded and used many times over it's 80 year run, including in the recent series "The Marvelous Mrs Maisel". This one goes out to my Sweet Heart....enjoy my rendition! Some of my favorites are by Burl Ives, Paul Robeson, Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, and Natalie Merchant to name a few. Enjoy my version of this early American classic.

Steve Lawrence, one of the last of the early crooners died last week...this one goes out to his memory. He recorded "Go Away Little Girl" in 1963 when it hit number 1 on the charts. It is also the first song ever to hit number 1 twice, with the Donny Osmond version in 1971. Please enjoy my version!

He had other hits later with the Four Seasons but this was what started the ball rolling.
