I’m 18 years old and a Composer/Sound Designer from Germany.
The Piece shows the moment when we fall, helpless and hopeless. The first Part uses a Recording of a Heartbeat with short Sampled Parts of an orchestral Piece by Debussy (Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune). The Sounds your hear are the String Section and the Flute at different pitches that build up a great lasting atmosphere, in which the time stands still. The Ending of the Orchestra is the moment of realisation when we fall in love. The Composed Melody played on an old Piano moves together with the Recording of an old projector, evoking sweetness and helplessness. The Orchestral sound lasts in a self build Pad Sound that accompanies the Piano till the end.
This competition is a great opportunity. A scholarship at the Sound Design for Visual Media program at Vancouver Film School would give me the chance to dive deeper into sound than ever before.
