Canon In Drop D

Like all of Vandarth's music, the Fragment EP is a conversation about life's deeper questions of meaning, hardship and purpose.  Anyone who has experienced loss, pursued a dream that seemed out of reach, or wrestled with living a meaningful life will find understanding and empathy here in the music.  The upbeat and hopeful track Stay With Me was written as an emotional appeal to a loved one.  Canon in Drop D is an epic rock opera that continues the story, grappling with uncertainty, loss, anger and finally acceptance.  Canon is based on the popular wedding song Pachelbel's Canon in D.  The Truth Is Out There was inspired by the UFO investigation in X-Files Season 1, dealing with the search for evidence of the supernatural and drawing spiritual parallels.  One Long Year is a song about spending a year away from a loved one and the toll distance takes on the relationship.  Finally, the epic finale I Saw You From Space deals with the tension between the desire to pursue the dream of a music career and the desire to settle down and start a family.  The song deals with weighing two different desires that cannot seem to coexist and the difficult choices that result.

The Truth Is Out There

Vandarth is a solo alt/rock artist from Wichita, KS.  His albums feature a huge electric guitar sound and sincere, perosnal lyrics.  At age 16, a friend gave him a copy of the very first Foo Fighters album where Dave Grohl played every instrument.  The album inspired him to make his own solo albums and he's never looked back.  Someday he would like to turn Vandarth into a full rock band.
