de Silva is a London based DJ with over 10 years of collecting records under his belt and he’s taking over Tapes #103. He is the co-founder of CULT Records, a new label and digging platform relaunched from the ashes of his successful Manchester party who welcomed the likes of Objekt, Josey Rebelle, DJ Python, Shanti Celeste and many more over the years. 

This mix moves through 90s and early 2000s House & Techno cuts, highlighting some of the gems from his collection.

Episode 72 welcomes Sweden based digger, producer, sound designing wizard Bolam to the CommaCast Series.

Founder of platform Earworm and a quickly developing name within the underground electro, tech and progressive house circuits, with celebrated releases on labels such as Space Dust, Slump and Haws, Bolam is a name that is consistently popping up on track lists around the world. Blessed to share with us a mix that combines old school warehouse rave culture with modernised takes on those old school sounds. We are gifted with an eclectically energetic hour and a half of  progressively trance fused house music bliss.

This week we have our 'Live' Mix being presented from the 8th of August 2023 from a debut night at Ebloc, curated by a long-standing customer Alex Wanyoike.

With their 1st night, Soiree combined some of Manchester's finest selectors including our podcast guests Jeremy & Calmcee. The recording captures 3 hours covering everything from bumpy deepness right through to an elevated bpm of driving techy flavours with flashes of proggy / acid influences all whilst maintaining a serious groove that gradually builds and delivers.

“This is the full recording of our 3 hour warm-up set at Eastern Bloc back in August for Soirée, our good pal Alex’s new party. It starts out relatively chilled and restrained and gradually builds towards faster and tougher stuff in the final hour–we started off playing 3 records each but were going 1-for-1 by the end! It’s mostly all house and tech house from the late 90s and early 00s or other stuff that has a similar groove and vibe. Digging for this was a welcome break from our studio where we’ve spent countless hours working on our own material. Keep your eyes peeled for that–at some point, hopefully, maybe. In the meantime, thanks for having us and hope you enjoy the mix as much as we enjoyed playing!”
