When familiar communication systems collapse, one channel always remains — the emergency one.
Deviloper calls it First Protocol. It’s not a document or a rule, but a sequence of impulses designed to reboot an entire world. There is no “human–machine interface” here — only a data stream you’re thrown into with no manual for getting out.

Each track on this release is a separate command in a low-level language: syncopated rhythm as a sync signal, bass as voltage on the bus, cold synths as diagnostic packets testing whether the system can survive a new mode. Drum & bass turns into infrastructure — tunnels for packets to rush through, noise repurposed as a cipher.

Paperfunk Recordings captures the exact moment when First Protocol is launched for the first time. After this there is no way back to “before”: every future release will be just another layer over this core. If, while listening, you feel the frequency of your inner noise shifting, it means the protocol is live, the connection is established — and backward compatibility no longer exists.

Even the brightest people carry a corner inside where the light doesn’t quite reach. Not monsters, not drama — just neatly folded anger, fatigue, swallowed insults and unsent messages. Frosta – Furious, out on Paperfunk Recordings, is about that inner room: the moment when you stop being “nice” for everyone else and, for one release, become honest with yourself.

These tracks sound like a controlled leak of darkness. The sub doesn’t just hit — it drags up all the tension you’ve been stacking for months. Drums are built from restrained reactions and broken brakes; synths snake along the spine and quietly remind you: the part of you that’s furious also has the right to exist. This isn’t destruction, it’s self-defence through sound.

Furious is for those who have spent years being “the good one” and are quietly suffocating in that role. It’s not an explosion, but a planned pressure release: turn it up, give your inner shadow the dancefloor it deserves, let it scream in kicks and snares instead of your throat. And when the last track fades, you don’t shut this darkness back in as an enemy — you take it with you as a part of your strength.

Hailing from Seville, Spain, Vandermou has been shaping his sound since 2010, evolving from breakbeat roots to a signature Drum & Bass style. Since launching his solo career in 2016, he has performed across Spain and at international events such as Outlook Festival (Croatia), Cross Club and Fabric Ostrava (Czech Republic), as well as Neuroheadz Festival, Trinity Centre and Black Swan (UK).

Known for powerful, fast-paced neurofunk sets, Vandermou has released on labels including Kosen, Neuroheadz, Skamele Recordings, Raving Panda and Histeria Records, while also running his own record label, Gutting Audio, dedicated to cutting-edge neurofunk.
