When Paul van Dyk, one of the most iconic and influential names in dance music, creates a song inspired by one of the most beloved, cult favorite television shows in recent memory the potential is boundless. Paul’s newest release, ‘Hawkins Square,’ pays homage to Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers' Netflix smash. 
 
Stylistically, ‘Hawkins Square’ is driving and dark; a bath of progressive house and squelching 303s that’s a nod to the show's mysterious story line. “The inspiration is the thought of the clashing worlds, the two sides of a coin that essentially mean the same one thing,” Paul says.        
 
‘Hawkins Square’ arrives at a time of great activity for Paul van Dyk, in addition to a steady flow of original material and remixes, Paul recently announced that he will be returning to the United States with a series of dates that will offer an early preview of his upcoming studio album.  A true master as both a producer and DJ, van Dyk will bring a cache of unforgettable music that offers an exciting look into the future of dance music from one of the genre's consummate trendsetters.  
 
Fans will experience a career-spanning, genre-hopping set that will offer the full breadth of Paul’s sound. Almost 10 years ago, Lange & Gareth Emery fired a big ‘wake-up’ shot across the bows of trance… Their creative debut collaboration ‘Another You, Another Me’ was a synth-pop-inspired floor-quake, which camped out at the top of many DJs end of year charts. 

For VANDIT’s next 15 Years Of… release, their 2006-defining masterstroke has been revised by a quartet of this year’s trancefloor movers & shakers. Eddie Bitar’s given it a tech aspect, while Paul Thomas & Chris Bekker have conspired on a rebuild so strong, it prompted the UK’s DJ Mag to nod it their November trance Single of the Month. 

With their mix, Corti Organ have delivered a stunning, standout update to the ‘Another You, Another Me’s instantly recognisable riff, while the pairing of Solis & Sean Truby have gone all-guns-uplifting on their version.

Lighting the path into the last month of 2015 comes the latest from VANDIT’s 15 Years Of… series. And boys & girls, you’d better believe, it’s a seasonal cracker!

Since first release, Jose Amnesia’s ‘The Eternal’ has remained two things: underground… and evergreen. Reserved for the deepest level of fan reverence, it’s a classic as beloved today as it was back in the early Noughties.

Paul Thomas, Scott Bond & Charlie Walker are the men tasked with the 2015 revisions, and unto VANDIT’s door they’ve delivered a truly exceptional pair of remixes. On his rework, Paul retains all the essence and sonic high of the Original, binding it into a brilliantly modernised production and up-to-date arrangement. Comeback kid Scott & young gun Charlie meanwhile supply another in their of-late celebrated series of REBOOTED remixes. Putting ‘The Eternal’s central riff between their studio crosshairs, though, supporting pianoforte, string-symphonics and rafter-raising synthesizers, they elevate Jose’s anthem to yet greater heights.

Over the last five months Chris Bekker has been on a mission to musically capture the heterogeneous essence of his hometown. Each diverse single has brought him a stage closer to July 2016 and the release of his debut album. Today sees this singles ‘tour’ arrive at the very heart of the German capital, with the album’s namesake single, ‘Berlinition’.

Having previously collaborated on ‘Telling Tales’ back in 2014, the track sees Bekker behind the mixing desk once again with fellow Berliner, Chris Montana. Its release also marks the production return of Germany’s most famous electronic music native… Adding his immediately recognisable touch to ‘Berlinition’ is Chris’ mentor (and label boss), Paul van Dyk.  
Receiving its sneak-peak premiere at Berlin Fashion Week back in January (where it opened the Guido Maria Kretschmer runway show), the track has since been adopted as the official anthem of Berlin’s 2016 Gay Pride event. To do full justice to its subject matter, ‘Berlinition’ is arriving in three markedly diverse sonic varieties. 

The Flashback rework filters its percussion and lets the bass ride before delivering its highly distinctive accordion mainline to maximum exuberant effect. More catchy and infectious than is strictly good for you, it’s carnival & fiesta credentials couldn’t be more clearly defined! 

With its daytime mix signed & sealed, it’s down to Paul van Dyk to put ‘Berlinition’ on a clubbier, more afterdark path. Energizing it with a hallmark PvD bassline, he increases the tempo and takes the track’s spirited mainline to its very natural uplifting conclusion.

As its title suggests, the Berlin White Tech mix resonates deliciously with tech-house intent. Brewed darker & longer, its groove-hard beats & crunchy percussive loops square off against deep, echoing bongs, super low frequency bass and a satisfyingly tough recalibration of its mainline.

‘Sacred Heart’, ‘Amistad’, ‘R2D2’, ‘Angelic’ – over the last half-year, each release has beaten the drum that bit harder and raised anticipation levels that much higher for Mr. M.O.R.P.H.’s new long-player. That event comes a major step closer again today, with the release of the album’s outstanding title track - the heaven-sent 'Not All Superheroes Wear Capes'.
Its title is both a reference and dedication to – as Alex puts it - “the everyday, cape-less heroes that live among us”. “From nurses and carers in the local hospital to doctors without borders, working – sometimes in harm’s way, all trying to make a difference in others lives”. 

The middle of last month saw 'Not All Superheroes’ receive a special ‘double’ radio premiere, getting spun by Armin on ASOT and - in the same week - a back-in-the-chair PvD on VONYC Sessions.

Epically beautiful, classically M.O.R.P.H., through sound & tone, the track harks back to a golden era of White Isle trance. It stakes long, held, emotion-packed synth notes against compelling drums, charged percussion and impactful bass. Elegant pad-&-chord soaked melodies, thermally enhancing key shifts and achingly poignant piano notes fuel its mood further, before ‘Heroes’ sweeps upwards post-break to deliver its rapturous finale.
