Fiercely proud of their homeland, Vandoliers put their own spin on the Texas country tradition with new album The Native, doubling down on their modern approach to traditional influences. A tribute to the Dallas-Ft. Worth band's Texas homeland, The Native, out May 26 on State Fair Records, takes its listener through a swirl of East Dallas dive bars, Pantego pool halls, small towns, big cities, and the rolling ribbon of bluebonnet-covered highway that stretches throughout the state. The band kicks up a storm of Western swing, electric blues, roadhouse rock 'n' roll, Tejano, cowboy country, and twangy punk, saluting fellow Texans from Bob Wills to ZZ Top in the process.
