-How long have you been creating music?
I've been releasing music for 14 years now, I've released my first EP on 2009. 
Most of the time under my alias, just from 2012 to 2015 I've released music under my real name "Simone Marmellosi".

-What do you use to make your tracks?
As DAW until 2016 I used Logic Pro, but after that I definitely preferred to switch to Ableton.
For making solid grooves most of the time I use the Native Instruments drum maschine.
As plug-ins I use the Komplete NI ones a lot, Sylenth1 (LennarDigital) and mostly the SubBoomBass (Rob Papen) to make my basslines.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
It's been a long time I'd say, I discovered Dirtybird when I started performing as a resident DJ at a historic club in my hometown (Parma, Italy) in 2008, the club was called "Eden". 
From that moment I've started making intense musical selections, both in vinyl stores and digitally, it was impossible not to stumble upon Dirtybird releases.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Without a doubt "Riva Starr", he's italian like me and ever since I started DJing I have been in love with all his productions, I also find his live DJ sets incredible. 
He has started releasing his records on Dirtybird at the beginning of my career too.
I had the pleasure of meeting him once in person and I really respect him.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
"Begin Again" by John Carney.

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
"Richard Ashcroft" at Sziget Festival. He's my inspiration.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
I would go back to the 80s, to see with my own eyes and not through books, films and my mother's stories what life was like in that magnificent period.

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
"Dendrocopos major" as I really do love red as a color, putting passion in everything you do is the most important thing. 
I admire their tenacity in tapping with their beaks to satisfy their needs. I always put passion and that kind of tenacity to reach my music goals.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
A dream come true. 
Throughout all my career as a producer I've tried and dreamed of releasing my music on Dirtybird, now it's actually happened: I'm speechless and really excited about that.

Vänel, an Italian DJ and producer who has been a resident of the historic club “Eden” in Parma for many years and a guest at many clubs and festivals in northern Italy, has shared the console with many international artists.

Chiara Viola on the iconic DIRTYBIRD of Claude Von Stroke and his EP "Good Vibrations" together with Johan S, one of the most quoted house producers of the moment [Defected, Toolroom, Glasgow Underground] which was N1 worldwide for over a month on Traxsource - Tech House Chart.
His rise in the most alternative Parisian clubbing with his refined and groovy sound is unstoppable!

Born in Brazil and based in Ibiza for nearly a decade, KALISMÃ is entering the underground electronic scene in full force, bringing with her a bold and refined sound shaped by years of deep immersion and evolution. Her sets are a dynamic fusion of minimal, electro, deep house, and everything in between—crafted into groovy, sexy, high-energy musical rides that feel like a conversation between herself and the dance floor. After moving to Ibiza in 2017 and fully diving into the island’s underground culture, she took to the decks in 2020 and quickly began making waves across Europe, performing at iconic venues in her home base of Ibiza, softly landing at Kater Blau in Berlin and New York City alongside Marco Carola for the well known  ‘Party Monster’ at Sony Hall NYC. Her rising profile earned her a spot at the prestigious IMS Ibiza closing party, where she shared the stage with Roisin Murphy, Pete Tong, Mochakk and many others — a milestone early in her journey. She’s also played major festivals such as Extrema Outdoor, Voodoo Village, and We Can Dance, performing alongside global heavyweights like Seth Troxler, Kerri Chandler, Damian Lazarus, and Black Coffee. That same year, she was featured on John Digweed’s iconic Transitions Radio Show and made her debut at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). With her presence rapidly expanding—and her first music productions set to drop in 2025—KALISMÃ is stepping fully into her signature sound, bringing fierce style, magnetic energy, and an original voice in the global underground—unfiltered and without boundaries.

Vänel is an italian dj & producer currently based in Paris.
In the beginning of his career he has been DJ Resident for an historical Italian club called "Eden" for 5 years, doing warm-up sets for the best international djs of our underground scene, playing also for several years in the best North Italian clubs and festivals.
He has been producing music for more than a decade (since 2009) under the alias "Vanel and Simone Marmellosi" on labels such as Tulipa Recordings, Not for Us Records, Raw Roots, MUM Manchester Underground Music, etc having also received real support from Djs such as Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, Sam Paganini, Dave Seaman, Behrouz, Nicole Moudaber, Marco Effe, Philip Bader, Ralf, Luca Agnelli, Francesco Farfa, Joy Kitikonti & many more.
After spending three years finding and improving his own style, he has started a new project: "Vänel" on 2018 - back to his beloved alias ready to share his new concept and music again.
He did a 3-tracker EP "Ghosts Between The Speakers" in collaboration with the mighty Ronald Christoph. And also, Vänel has released stuffs on: De-Noize Records, Disco Balls Records and Phunk Junk Music Group during 2020.
Important stuffs are still running 'cause Vänel has released his "Good Vibrations" EP alongside one of the best house producers of the moment: "Johan S" [Defected, Toolroom, Glasgow Underground etc.] that has been N #1 worldwide for over a month on Traxsource - Tech House Chart. And especially, Vänel has signed and released 3 singles "It's A Funky Feeling" / "Some Girls" / "You Steal My Heart" on the legendary TRAX Records (Chicago), giving him the right to leave a small mark in the history of House Music.
