Fade Away

“Reborn” is a post-divorce song. It reflects upon hope and transformation, while embracing memories of an old, gone-forever love. The song’s subtext speaks about how fragile and relative love really is; it implies that love depends upon context and not only content. While describing the bitter moments of separation, the song is truly a manifest of optimism and mental strength: “Moving ain’t easy, but standing is hell/To have the soul amended Had to open my shell”.

Reborn

The song’s narrative deals with human undertaking in relationship; in particular, the intricate mental network weaved by psychotherapy. The song dwells upon the inter-relations between mental resurrection and the underlying anxiety, while investigating the prospects and process of mental salvation. It includes an expert from a speech by philosopher Alan Watts. The song is melodically dynamic, with the 6/8 time signature endowing it with a retro-rock vibe.

Anny

An intense art/goth-rock composition - is Pini’s fourth single (following Fade Away, Reborn, and Anny). The song deals with post-traumatic stress disorder. It portrays the persistent day-by-day struggle of a veteran facing flashbacks of war atrocities, while dealing with an oblivious society. The song was inspired by all those delicate young souls, forever hammered by the atrocities of war. It stands as a memorial to those who returned from the battlefield, but left their souls burning forever among the scorched remains of their comrades.

PTSD, Mon Cheri

This acoustic-folk, jazz-reharmonized song is a personal reflection on my collaboration with music producer Tom Goldstein. Tom wrote a beautiful melodic line, influenced by my compositions for the forthcoming album "Just Below My Cover". I then wrote the lyrics (and C-part) for the song. This was the first time ever that someone composes a song especially for me. I was really moved. The lyrics, therefore, reflect upon the magical, heart-to-heart connection that music creates, regardless of age, occupation and stature. The song is a homage to the profound, rewarding, almost insane experience of bonding through music; quoting from the song - some people call it madness, but we will call it art.
