Vani Vachi is a multidisciplinary project created by a human being to channel cosmic freedom, passion, liberation and ecstasy through sound.

The name Vani Vachi comes from the Hindu mythology, as a take on a tale of the twins coming down from space and bringing music to the planet Earth.

Starting this journey with her first 8-tracks EP, the 8-track release seamlessly blends techno, electro, and house for an electrifying dancefloor experience, both in the club and at home.

The name Vani Vachi comes from the Hindu mythology, as a take on a tale of the twins coming down from space and bringing music to the planet Earth. 

The tracks were created in the belief that hedonism can amplify freedom that lies within us, and promote healthy development of the human race.

For this week's DETECT, we welcome the Berlin-based artist @vanivachi.

Vani Vachi is a DJ and producer originating from Kyiv. She is also a resident of the queer party Veselka. Her music taste has been shaped internationally, starting from her early years in London and further refined as an important part of Kyiv’s rising scene. There, she curated parties such as Outside and Gems at the club Otel’.

Her sets are always unique and unpredictable, with a strong preference for 90s and 2000s flavors, a mixture of broken and straight beats, classical acid basslines, and groovy sounds. Being a front-row dancer herself, she knows that the journey is what is always needed throughout the night. When performing, she always takes the dancefloors through a metamorphosis of layers, textures, and kicks.

Since the beginning of her rising career a few years back, Vani Vachi has already performed on all major dancefloors across Ukraine, such as Brave! Factory and ICKPA festivals. She has also shared her music around Europe and is a regular at Berlin’s Pornceptual events.

Her recent release of the first 8-track EP on Diffuse Reality Records shows a contemporary approach to old-school trance, techno, and electro references. It further solidifies Vani Vachi's position as an up-and-coming artist in the world of club music.

VVREX is a freshly-coined platform dedicated to emotional futurism and genre-resistant tracks...Our pick from the release, 'Coded Flesh', is a prime distillation of that duality: a noir-lit rave hymn crafted from bone-dry drum programming, haunted vocal fragments and flickering synths that glisten like oil on asphalt. As tension coils and snaps, the voice hovers like a breath on cold glass, half-human, half-machine, narrating a comedown from some distant dystopia. 'Coded Flesh' feels like an invocation, a whispered manifesto that is impossible to ignore.
