Vanja & Rui are partners in life, love and music. 
In their parallel lives, Vanja d’Alcantara is a Belgian film director and Rui Salgado is a Portuguese jazz musician. 
Based in Brussels, they started singing together in their kitchen, then went on writing and composing their songs as they travelled the world with a guitar. Twelve songs were born, mostly in English, a few in French. 
Their two voices, male and female, blend together harmoniously in their eclectic tunes, ranging from delicate slow ballads to funky upbeat pop. 
They held their very first concert in Brussels in December 2017, only with their two voices and two guitars, acoustic and electric. 
The enthusiasm around them encouraged the duo to record their songs in studio, with the added talents of Eric Bribosia (keyboards), Louis Favre (drums), and a strings section with Corentin Dellicour (cello), Sébastien Taminiau (violin) and Rui himself playing the double-bass.
Vanja & Rui’s first album INFINITY is now available.
