Van Kost and Ekko join forces for the second release on LAPS Recordings: „Call of the Void EP“ takes us on a journey into a black hole and brings together the best of what the two very different producers have to offer. The EP clearly has its roots in the Melodic Techno realm, but is strongly influenced by a large variety of electronic subgenres. Although the EP contains only 4 tracks, the duo managed to create a storyline that resembles that of a concept album while at the same time pushing the boundaries of what could be categorized under the term "Melodic Techno" with their exceptionally creative sound-design. „Singularity“, with its long, atmospheric intro, paints a first picture of the setting where the whole EP is going to take place. With its UK-Techno and Breakbeat influenced groove, it clearly stands out from the following tracks and takes the listener into a very young, chaotic universe where time and space still dont exist. With „Call of the Void“ the duo delivers us a dark, energetic Melodic Techno banger, that fits perfectly into the meta. The warm, wide synths and emotional melodies create an atmosphere that touches the hearts of everyone who has a crave for goosebumps. However, the track stays highly danceable and energetic until the end. The intense vibe created by the synths symbolizes the gravitation of a black hole, that no one can withstand. „Traveller“ is way more progressive than any other track on the EP and lets the listener drift through the strange world behind the event horizon. The focus clearly lays on the forceful bassline, that plays in a polymetric groove, and the detuned pads and arps enhance the strange vibe even more. „Event Horizon" maybe the most difficult of the four tracks to squeeze into one category. The trance-influenced bassline creates a bouncy, danceable vibe, the brass section and pads on the other hand are more melancholic and mellow, the shuffled hats, the 303s and the diffuse drones make it impossible to chose one emotion for the track that seems to be perfect at being everything at once.

Mit den ersten Sonnenstrahlen des Frühjahres 2023 verirrten sich die zwei Freunde auf ihrem Weg richtung Osten in die Uckermark. Dabei entdeckten sie einen schönen Zauberwald, in welchem ein Schäfer sein alljährliches Frühjahrsfest feierte. Als er die zwei Freunde traf lud er sie ein, an seiner Feier teilzunehmen. Gemeinsam tanzten sie mit den anderen Gästen, zwei Tage und zwei Nächte, neben Lagerfeuer und Sauna bis der aufgehende Mond den Sommer einleutete...

Baghira Drums - Lost in Uckermark

Letztes Wochenende ging es für die beiden Freunde gemeinsam mit ihren Leuten auf das "Zurück zu den Wurzel Festival". In dem Mikrokosmos erlebten sie verschiedene Abendteuer die sie auf unterschiedlichen Wegen verzauberten und verwurzelten. Schließlich fanden sie sich nach diversen bunten Nächten im Märchenwald auf der Bühne wieder und begaben sich, verschmolzen mit dem Publikum, auf eine gemeinsame Reise in die aufgehende Morgensonne. 

Wir sind dankbar für diese wundervolle Zeit. Wer sich die musikalische Erfahrung nochmal anhören möchte oder nicht mit dabei war ist hiermit herzlich eingeladen unsere Aufnahme nochmal und nochmal und nochmal anzuhören.

Wir freuen uns schon auf die nächsten Abendteuer.

Zwischen Wasserturm und Autobahnbrücke, als sich Fuchs und Hase gute Nacht wünschten, traf man sich im Charles Bronsen um gemeinsam mit Mira Vana und den anderen Katzen die Nacht zum Tage zu machen.
Angetiegert aus Berlin, haben Baghira Drums neue Sounds und alte Klassiker im Gepäck. Zum glück funktionierte die Blackbox des Raumschiffs und die Reiseroute konnte gespeichert werden.

With the darker dancefloors in mind, this production is definitely something for the lovers of darker and more industrial techno. Four founders, four sounds.
