eyyoooo! the last one I threw together wasn't high energy enough, so i made this.

Also did the thing!!! I started with melody first, then wrapped chords around it. Came out okay.

Oh, also did most of the standard mix techniques I do for my professional work. Well... like, half of them. Still getting used to my new monitoring set up, but I'm kinda surprised it doesn't sound as awful as I expected it to.

Oh yea, something about the track! Uhhh... it sounds like the feeling when you're fuckin sick of shit and ready to buckle down and get something done.

It's another thing! Made some sad bastard stuff with the lead inspired by those old motion sensor Halloween pumpkins? Does anyone remember those? I feel like there's a kind of theme developing with this project of a lofi production process! Just bang it out until they slowly get better. Like the "throw a thousand pots" approach.

Also, it is wild how hard of a time I have spelling Sisyphean.

Eat Shit And Die

I was watching the new season of Shorsey and oohh mmaahh gaawwwddd I love their music selection so mmuuuccchhh!!!

So I wrote a song that kinda reminded me of some of the cool scenes from the show. Kinda my lame attempt at a Mstrkrft or Death From Above 1979 style aggro track. Came out a bit more like Cyberpunk 2077 but whatever, I'm hella stoked on that soundtrack too.

Sick And Tired

In keeping with the paired uploads I've been doing, here's another more classical piece I've been playing around with. Always liked the idea of playing with orchestral, digital, and rock elements, so, this is the first good ol' college try!

Had a lot of fun coming up with weird lower frequency textural elements. I went for a more open orchestration/mix on this one as well, the past few 8-bit and rock-ish tracks have been super smashed and dense.

I've always liked the name Artificial A.I. Like a human attempting to shed their humanity in favor of a machine existence. Had this idea in my head while writing this one.

The other thing stuck in my head for this one was the scene in Amadeus when Salieri describes the first piece he hears from Mozart. "Just a pulse, like a rusty squeeze box. Then, above it all, an oboe."

Mine doesn't move into a phrase so delightful or whatever like he talks about. But, the oboe emerging from the darkness of the initial sounds is just such a cool thing.
