Plaisirs Sonores Records, renowned for pushing the boundaries of prog & melodic house, is thrilled to present their latest release, an exquisite EP by the talented EMPHI. The EP leads with its namesake track, 'Photophobic,' a dark journey that melds ethereal laser with pulsating rhythms – a testament to EMPHI's mastery in creating compelling sonic narratives. 

'Dust' follows, offering listeners a melodic experience peppered with intricacies. Its enthralling grooves and immersive melodies are bound to be a favorite among both fans and DJs. 

Completing the trio is 'Dust (John Cosani Remix).' John Cosani, a name synonymous with high-quality reinterpretations, lends his distinctive touch, morphing the original's essence into a fresh, yet familiar sonic palette. This remix is a dancefloor magnet, promising to captivate audiences worldwide.

D.J. MacIntyres SLC-6 Music closes out the spring season by presenting a new single from Rockka and Dr Green. Hailing from Sri Lanka, Rockka aka Lakith Adikaram has been releasing his own unique style of progressive music for the better part of three years. Making his mark through a series of Mango Alley releases featuring deep and atmospheric grooves, Rockka demonstrated his mastery, paving the way for a notable ascent in his early career. Although younger than most of his contemporaries, the Nugegoda resident impressed going forward, quickly landing projects with Clubsonica, SLC-6 Music and Yomo Records, amongst others. Meanwhile, also hailing from Sri Lanka, Daniel Claessen aka Dr Green has been one of SLC-6s core artists since making his debut in 2022 with a contribution to the SIX: Stage-11 collection. The next three calendar years would see Daniel deliver an additional thirteen discography credits for the American imprint, while also finding a home on Balkan Connection, Droid9 and La Foresta, amongst others. With Dr Green having remixed Rockkas Black Sands for SLC-6 last year, the duo now return to the label with their first collaborative single Suspect, alongside remixes from Mindlanholic and Oreiente. The original mix lands in electric fashion, bringing the best production hallmarks of both artists, as they craft a peaktime slice of progressive house. Constructed with the dancefloor in mind, the duos punchy kick drums, vibrant percussion and charged bass lines set the foundation for squelchy synth mutations and deconstructed vocals stabs to set a lively mainroom vibe, before a rich cinematic break resets the mood for a big and mystical finale. Returning to the label for the first interpretation of Suspect is Mindlanholic. Famed for releases via Freegrant Music, Progressive House Argentina and Transensations, the Peruvian born, Spain based artist opts for a driving hypnotic approach, one which takes square aim at the darker dance floors with rolling grooves, prophetic vocal samples, glassy arps and an emotional break, the latter of which is sure to create some memorable club moments across the impending summer season. The release concludes with Oreiente making his label debut with the second and final interpretation of Suspect. Although just two short years into his production career, the Sri Lankan artist has already achieved measurable success, recording projects for Magnitude Recordings and Mango Alley. Continuing to build an impressive resume, Oreientes Suspect interpretation keeps the originals pure progressive vibe, while opting for a more spacious groovy approach which should sit perfectly in the heart of a broad range of DJ sets.

Since 1997 when Kasey Taylor founded Vapour Recordings, the label has gone on and forged itself an enviable reputation, not only as one of Australia’s leading independent dance labels, but the worlds too.

When you feast your ears upon a new Vapour Recordings Ep, think of it as forward thinking dance music. If there is one defining feature of a Vapour record, it’s that it is just a little ahead of its time. The sort of tune that the average person might put back on the shelf, and then later on hear it out in a club and kick themselves because they didn’t realise how damn good it really was at first listen, and because they knew they had just let a gem of a tune slip right through their fingers.

July 2011 saw the label reach it’s landmark 100th release. The clock was wound back for this one choosing artists from the past, present and future to remix the back catalogue. The package contained some fantastic names, with remixes from the likes of Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Luis Junior, Jamie Stevens, Peter Horrevorts, Nick Warren, Dousk, Rodskeez, Fiord and many more.

There are DJs in the world who have vision. Those who can pick up a sound before it becomes popular and break it to the masses. Names like John Digweed & Hernan Cattaneo spring to mind, and Vapour releases have always found their way into the record boxes and charts of these luminaries. They are attributes that Kasey Taylor has also.

It isn’t easy to turn heads in the underground dance music scene when you are a small record label operating from the ass end of the universe! It’s harder to slip promos to DJs and radio station reps, magazine editors and so on. There’s seldom a chance to drop your own track in front of the big name DJs to prove just how effective your music can be. With that in mind, it’s a real credit that Vapour Recordings has earned a spot as premiere labels on the global market, commanding the attention of all the industry heavy weights through nothing more than releasing quality tunes. No huge advertising budgets, no massive PR campaigns, no industry schmoozing, no shit talking, no sales driven drum rolls, no poxy synth lines – Just a talented collective of like minded artists doing it well from around the globe.
