Univack presents 'Bond Connections / Infinity Rhythm' a four-track EP with two originals by the artists ILIAS KATELANOS @iliaskatelanos , PLECTA @plecta86 and ECHO DAFT @user-826624364 , plus two remixes by K LOVESKI @loveskidj and ALEJ CH @alexandros-antwnopoulos 

Although they have their own solo career, Ilias and Plecta (Greece) have been releasing music together since early 2022. With a great symbiosis and connection when making  music, they have proven being one of the best duets in the electronic music scene nowadays. Their style has been focused on a very groovie and energetic Organic House, but always very close to Progressive House genre. In this release, they have join forces with the DJ & producer from Sri Lanka ECHO DAFT. They three show their most progressive face, with two originals full of power.

The EP is completed by a remix by the well known and veteran Russian DJ & producer K LOVESKI, who returns to Univack to repeat the great success of all his tracks released on this label, this time with a beautiful version of 'Infinity Rhythm'. The second remix is made by the young Greek artist ALEJ CH, who remixes 'Bond Connections' to show his great skills and talent, in his first time on Univack.

An artist with a rich and impressive pedigree, Mike Rish returns to Meanwhile with a triple-tracker of exceptional quality in "Sunset on Mars / Tornn / Shokl".

A Melbourne native with a strong back catalogue stretching back over 15 years, Mike Rish's debut quickly became a starting point for a successful career, predominantly focused on the sound of Progressive House. Since 2009, the Australian has gone on to see his music featured on the likes of Vapour Recordings, Anjunadeep and Guy J's Lost & Found, while a trio of EPs for Meanwhile between 2021 and 2024 have seen Mike Rish sparkle with a collection of beautifully crafted original sonic sculptures. Now returning for the first time since August 2024's "Akhnaton / Gröv / Cloudbreaker" triumph, 3 new original tracks take centre stage.

The compelling "Sunset on Mars" opens with a thumping beat and smooth percussive top-line before a swathe of effects-laden synths percolate the soundwaves with rich delays and reverb. A powerful bassline adds dancefloor urgency while an evocative arp filters its way to the foreground through the second movement. Rising and falling with club-friendly knowhow, the track gradually picks up pace before entering the second half full of punchy bravado. Immaculately constructed, "Sunset on Mars" is an aural triumph.

Continuing the powerful rhythmic character of its predecessor, "Tornn" is a thumping, chugging bassline monster that rolls seductively across its 7-minute timeframe. Endless delays and effects swim across the stereo spectrum in swirling atmospheres as vocal snippets talk of remembered dreams and an eerily pitched menace. Evolving easily through its phases, the second half comes to life as bassline and rhythmic prowess take control across the shape-shifting soundscapes.

Opening with a strong tribal rhythm and subtle jungle-themed effects and bird calls, another chorus of reverb-drenched effects and delays across a smorgasbord of vocal cuts, provide a beautiful dub-inspired atmosphere. Coming to the fore at the stripped-back breakdown with expansive ease, Mike Rish gently picks up the pace through the second half to create and intriguing and dynamic listening environment through his sublime layering of vocal elements.

Returning to the label that is fast becoming a second home, Mike Rish delights Meanwhile listeners with "Sunset on Mars / Tornn / Shokl".

Since 1997 when Kasey Taylor founded Vapour Recordings, the label has gone on and forged itself an enviable reputation, not only as one of Australia’s leading independent dance labels, but the worlds too.

When you feast your ears upon a new Vapour Recordings Ep, think of it as forward thinking dance music. If there is one defining feature of a Vapour record, it’s that it is just a little ahead of its time. The sort of tune that the average person might put back on the shelf, and then later on hear it out in a club and kick themselves because they didn’t realise how damn good it really was at first listen, and because they knew they had just let a gem of a tune slip right through their fingers.

July 2011 saw the label reach it’s landmark 100th release. The clock was wound back for this one choosing artists from the past, present and future to remix the back catalogue. The package contained some fantastic names, with remixes from the likes of Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Luis Junior, Jamie Stevens, Peter Horrevorts, Nick Warren, Dousk, Rodskeez, Fiord and many more.

There are DJs in the world who have vision. Those who can pick up a sound before it becomes popular and break it to the masses. Names like John Digweed & Hernan Cattaneo spring to mind, and Vapour releases have always found their way into the record boxes and charts of these luminaries. They are attributes that Kasey Taylor has also.

It isn’t easy to turn heads in the underground dance music scene when you are a small record label operating from the ass end of the universe! It’s harder to slip promos to DJs and radio station reps, magazine editors and so on. There’s seldom a chance to drop your own track in front of the big name DJs to prove just how effective your music can be. With that in mind, it’s a real credit that Vapour Recordings has earned a spot as premiere labels on the global market, commanding the attention of all the industry heavy weights through nothing more than releasing quality tunes. No huge advertising budgets, no massive PR campaigns, no industry schmoozing, no shit talking, no sales driven drum rolls, no poxy synth lines – Just a talented collective of like minded artists doing it well from around the globe.
