Voices From The Lake are Donato Dozzy and Neel, a duo that has redefined techno in both the live arena and the album format. Their debut full-length album for Prologue was widely heralded as a masterpiece for the way it displayed an incredible ear for sound design while painting vivid, multi-layered landscapes of slowly unfolding rhythm and texture. When playing live in serene environments like Japan's Labyrinth Festival, the pair explore experimental underwater sounds, African drumming, and minimalism while keeping the dancefloor in motion. 
 
In July of 2012, Voices From The Lake came from Rome to Brooklyn to present a special night of music at The Bunker in the back room of Public Assembly.  This was one of the greatest nights of music in the history of The Bunker.  Their tremendous six-hour set consisted of two separate live sets, and back-to-back DJ sets.  None of the music from the either of the hour-long live sets had been released, so we immediately got on them about their plans for the tracks.  We agreed on our favorite segments, and they produced live studio tracks based on those excerpts.  A few Voices From The Lake tracks have come out since the album, but this is their first full release since 2012.

Vallmo is the new solo moniker from Melina Åkerman Kvie (AnnaMelina).

With her first forays into music deftly embracing pop, Melina built a sedate and sombre place for herself that caught mainstream attention. Following her collaborations with Varg across his Nordic Flora Series, their FLORA project came into being, with the pair playing widely across Europe.

Vallmo represents a return to her personal creative platform. The sparse and gentle electronics of 'ruin walls' have been composed privately and candidly. Strictly working from a hardware set-up, these pieces hang together as they were made. They drift in a contemplative mode, the hint of rhythm as soft as a heartbeat.

Norrskensflamman – roughly “the northern lights flame” was a communist newspaper of Luleå that in 1940 suffered a sinister and cowardly attack. Their only crime was fostering a dream of a better world. A fairer world built on camaraderie, equality and peace. Only to see it go up in flames. 

Using an explosive charge fitted to the printing press, a violent fire broke out leaving five people dead. Among them two children. Devoured by the flames in a wicked blaze of a bizarre aurora borealis. In the subsequent investigation a conspiracy emerged, consisting of soldiers, officers and a journalist colleague, but shockingly also the local chief of police. Varg2™ bestows upon us an homage to Norrland, an album embracing collaborations with local abilities, driving spirits and heroes of the north. Varg2™’s bright and brilliant flame continues to enlighten and lead the way like a lantern for the feet – a pole star for the mind.
