It was time for a new one! I listened to a lot of records I had never heard before for this, and also included some favorites of course. The format is similar to the first one, I like doing blocks of 2-3 songs from a particular album or group, and Bill Evans is always great to start with. The time period is roughly the same, late 50s through the 60s, though it ends with a bit more experimental works from Pharoah Sanders from the 70s. Although it's almost an hour longer, there is a bit less variety of artists because lot of the pieces are longer ones, all really great works in my opinion. Nowhere is there fixed reference point. From each flight point the cosmos has a different look. Each point has its own constellation, its original individuality.

Label head Katie Drover joins a cast of 6 extraordinary talents to deliver both warmth and verve on ‘The Embrace’. A collection of intimate musical spells that as the title suggests, will surround the listener in a serene tapestry of soothing sounds. The LP features beautiful pieces from French songstress Molly, Russian beat-smith Tripmastaz and British machine man 100Hz, as well as Portuguese producer Jorge Caiado, Spanish gun Julian Perez and Dubai based creative Nasrawi, alongside two immaculate offerings from Katie Drover herself. Delicate, sometimes low slung, but always encapsulating a deep, soulful elegance, these tracks meld a variety of sonic influences ranging from hip-hop and breakbeat to dub techno and ambient. This embrace is sure to be a lasting one, with a deeply emotive echo that captures an incredibly poignant moment in time.

This pivot toward a digital approach from a previously vinyl only label is an adaptation to the myriad of changes thrust upon the industry by this global pandemic. As venues and performance spaces continue to struggle with lockdowns and restrictions, the ability of artists to generate their income has been severely hampered. The ease of digital platforms is a welcome aid during this time, allowing artists to disseminate music to their fans in more economical and timely fashion. With all this in mind 100% of the profits from this release will go directly to the artists involved.

With a career that spans over three decades, Argentinian veteran Franco Cinelli could be easily considered as a true pioneer, especially if we're talking about the South American scene. His first productions can be dated in 1995, and since then he's delivered tens of quality house, techno and minimal jams on labels such as the iconic Esperanza, Ilian Tape, Bass Culture, Raum...musik and Girada Unlimited to name a few. During his long-lasting career, the Rosario DJ and producer has been able to constantly redefine himself, while retaining a keen romance with the Latino influences which have carved his works into a great blend of vibrant percussions, modular groove flavors and rumbling basslines, contributing to enhancing the value of the entire South American movement.
