This is a DIY garage band recording of one of our songs, Hours. SInce recording this demo we've refined the intro a little to make it more powerful. This is our drummer's favourite song to play. It's such a jam to play live.

Loneliest Outpost (single)

Welcome to Variary. We’re a three-piece instrumental prog rock band from Johannesburg, South Africa. We teamed up in 2015, after a couple of us left our previous band, Colour Me Kacey, in pursuit of something different. 

We thought long and hard about a band name. We wanted something that held meaning for us. Variary is a derivative of a latin word that means ‘to change’. That’s exactly what this band is for us. Constant evolution, constant growth, constant change. 

We’ve spent the last two years working on material. Write, rewrite, rinse and repeat. This project is all about our love and our passion for music that challenges us to grow and to be better. Growth takes patience and time and we put all of what we have into the music we make. 

Our journey began three years ago, and we’re really excited to invite all of you to join us for the road ahead.

Our debut single, Reaction Formation, will be released on 1 May, 2018.
