Originally released on Proton in July of last year, Dutch duo, Huminal astounded us all with their wonderfully emotive piece, 'We Dwell In The Past'. A hit with DJs throughout the summer season the pairing have been riding the waves of success ever since. Now Slideways assigns remixes of its own, with exciting new interpretations coming from Subandrio and Dustin Nantais.

We begin by giving a warm welcome to one of the most sought-after progressive house artists in recent years. Making his Slideways debut, we're thrilled to have Sri Lankan mega-talent, Subandrio on board for this one. In true Subandrio style he encompasses the original and turns up the heat with a velvety smooth, sexy groove whilst expertly 
reinventing those tranquil segments. Subandrio, in our opinion, can do no wrong.

Canadian artist, Dustin Nantais made his first appearance in the very early days of Slideways when he gave us a killer remix of Rich Curtis & Dark Soul Project's 'Synesthesia', so it feels amazing to have him return. Here he picks up the pace and injects his distinctive funky edge that he is so loved for. Dustin always brings a tight energetic sound to each and every project and this one is no exception.

On the back of an orignal EP release on Movement Records and a stellar remix of Tim Penner's "Lost Again" on Particles, Dimuth K coughs up a secret weapon here.

The foundation of the track is Dimuth's signature infectious, cosmic groove that he has become notorious for; while a  hypnotic, oriental flare sweeps across a sonic landscape. 
As the main groove gives way for the breakdown, you are transported to an entirely different realm. Dimuth places Sudha's shaman-like vocal chant in the midst of this cinematic experience and provides a truly out of body moment, before bringing you back down full of strong, positive energy.

Supported by the maestro Hernan Cattaneo himself at festivals in Brazil, Amsterdam and Miami to name a few, Dimuth K's rendition of Moola Meditation is a true diamond in the rough.

Dubai-based Subandrio is, in musical terms, considered a very safe pair of hands. His career began back the late 90s when Progressive House reigned supreme. Now with a Frisky Radio show - Global Mission - and a DJ diary bursting at the seams, Subandrio makes his Sudbeat debut with four exceptionally crafted tracks. 

'Fugue State of Mind' is a masterpiece of subtle, mindful power. Sonics and FX dance with abandon on the skippy percussive backbone of this track as the signature motifs rise and fall along with the tension and release.
'Rain of Drums' hacks back to the glory days of prog with low end sweeps, bleepy rhythmic arps and a satisfyingly groovy bass line. 
'Rewired' picks up the pace with a plucked bass taking the lead ably assisted by strong sound design and some well chosen samples. 
Rounding out the pack is 'Celestial Being'. Tribal rhythms and FX lead the way making space for echoed arps a huge bowel shaking bassline and oodles of feel good factor.

EDGE begins their 2020 journey with a much-anticipated collaboration from Hermanez and Eran Aviner. Hailing from Belgium and making his label debut is Hermanez. Initially known for his timeless, tech-soul productions on Mobilee Records, Noir Music and Suara, the Genk resident has enjoyed a career renaissance in recent years, remodelling his sound with deeper, more musical and wonderfully organic leanings. It's a shift that has landed him releases on the movement's premiere imprints, most notably All Day I Dream, Lost & Found, Shanti Radio Moscow and TRYBESof. Also laying claim to an impressive discography is EDGE co-founder Eran Aviner. The Belgian artist has showcased his music on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records, while also being regarded as one of his country's most astute DJs. Having worked together once previously on a chart topping remix for Sound Avenue, Hermanez and Eran now present their debut EP via EDGE entitled 'Arias'.

Beginning what promises to be a fruitful year for both artists are the pure progressive sensibilities of 'Aria'. Captivating from the start, it's perfectly sculpted beats are warm and powerful, anchoring what is a rippling, free flowing foundation. Crafted with precision and care, layers of hypnotic percussion are blanketed with textural drifts, ghostly pads and fragmented melodies. Intrigue peaks as the main break unfolds, with hazy harmonic concepts and metallic melodies uniting for an exhilarating crescendo, before ushering in a groovy drop and hypnotic finale.

The journey continues with the reflective moods of 'Storyteller'. Nicely tied to the ethos of the EP, Hermanez and Eran marry haunting vocal refrains with meditative rhythms and tranquil textures. It's a spiritual and highly engaging storyboard, perhaps the EP's most impassioned in fact, a creation for the road home and no doubt a highly memorable selection for your dance floor.

The release is capped off in fine fashion with the chunky vibes of 'First Touch'. Immediately compelling, it's shapely bass tones and dynamic percussion play off a robust rhythmic core, making for a smooth, hip swinging groove. Its musical appeal grows subtly, as pixie-like motifs and luminous tones add an emotive slant to what is an already magical storyboard. Expertly timed, it's chugging energy melts down into a break of effervescent lines and shifty harmonics, building into a wall of melodic colour, before getting washed away in a rush of beats and percussion for a charming third movement. Groovy and emotive in equal measure, it rounds out what is an exceptional collection of music from Hermanez and Eran, one which sees the duo's creative synergy continue to grow.
