'Ascension' Jan 2018 DJ Mix

Varun, a completely self-taught DJ, bought all the necessary gear at the age of 19 and learnt by bringing a new piece of musical technology home, plugging it in, and pushing all the buttons until something happened. 

He got his first break in 2004 in his hometown of Bangalore, a time when open air outdoor gatherings were plenty. He soon started playing in some of the best outdoor & indoor venues in the city with some of the biggest headliners in the scene like GMS, Tristan, Ajja, Electric Universe, Melicia, Neuromotor, XP Voodoo, Mad Maxx and many more. Word of his skilful and crowd pleasing DJ sets spread and he soon started blowing up dance floors wherever he went.  

Shortly after, he was signed as a label DJ for a Spanish label called Materia Records and during his stint with them, he assembled an amazing 11 track compilation in 2008 featuring artists like Altom, Mad Maxx, Kali, Audialize etc. 

Since then, he has played and enjoyed immense success in various places like Bangalore, Dubai, Goa, Mumbai, Chennai, Jaipur, Himachal etc. He continues to do what he loves and effortlessly generates the desired effect in terms of stomping crowds, smiling faces & unadulterated energy - proof and reflection of his mixing skills and mastery of track selection. 

A true veteran in the game, his powerful musical selections are his own therapy as he continues to evolve and create a new and unique sound with his complexity and depth.

Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of music he loves best - rolling basslines, hypnotic leads, and music that captures the true essence of Psychedelic Goa Trance ♬♬♬
